  1. Big thank you to Paul Raistlin for his help and advice today when I popped to see him. Not only has he offered to help me with a retro fit project but he's also given me a few ideas for further things to look at doing...........he also gave me the news that I had folding mirrors , which I didn't know, and assisted in loosening them! It is always a pleasure to meet someone who is passionate about cars and there workings and to give up family time to assist is fantastic. It's fired me up and given me so many ideas. This is how it should be...enthusiasts looking out for each other and sharing there passion.....roll on the micro meets . Cheers paul and see you soon for the retro fit.

  2. Its that warm here i've got my mankini on, its not a pretty sight!. Think i've sorted it, been cleaning and feeding the leather and i think i may have been a little over zealous with the leather treatment and i am assuming its infiltrated one of the air circulation sensors. Now everything has dried out it seems to be returning to normal.

  3. I bought one last week for my son who has an X type Sport which has bluetooth but he could not play his music through to the car speakers. It cost £16.99 plus P&P, and he rang me yesterday to say it was really good. Peter.

  4. Hi Paul and welcome, firstly, do you have a small black button next to the mirror adjustment module located on the door card ? If so,press it and the mirrors fold in and out when pressed. If not, then the mirrors will fold by doing the following, place one palm on the painted side of the mirror housing and the other on the mirror side, gently push towards the rear of the car rotating in towards the window, You will feel some resisitance and then the mirror will move. Complete in reverse to put the mirror back into the normal position. i have a 2.5 AWD SE and it is a great car Cheers A

  6. You are probably right, Paul. I thought about having the Front fog lights fitted, but I do little night driving and the headlights are pretty good on the S type. Regards, Peter. P.S. Have you seen the post about the Jaguar Spares event at Stoneleigh? I might go unless SWMBO has something else less interesting planned.

  8. Since this topic is still being discussed i thought i would add a bit more. After i posted above about it being on amazon for £20 i ordered one and have been using it everyday since. As Andrew has said, it connects to your phone via bluetooth then transmits an FM signal ( you can choose what frequency it transmits on) whereupon you just tune your car radio to that signal and hey presto you have phone calls through your car speakers. You can stream your music from your phone to the device so your music comes from the car stereo too. I also downloaded an app to my android phone, the app is called radioplayer and i downloaded it because i like some of the DAB stations. I have found if i am using this app on my phone to listen to DAB radio whilst connected to this bluetooth link, it too is transmitted via my car speakers which is great. One thing i haven't seen mentioned, there is a small button on the side of this device which activates voice control. You can get the device to call a number in your phonebook simply by talking. This is probably the best £20 i have spent in a long time.
