hi Julie these sub frames are readily available second hand and can be found in very good condition if your going to have one fitted labor going to be the same and using a second hand one could save you a fortune its worth considering, its going to be a genuine part, so it will fit sub frame should not be welded really, its structural and all the suspension hangs off it rear is not really a big job to change, for a garage you would have to have a phone round here's a example of rear sub frame prices £65 delivered compared to over £700 new it all depends whats out there, its worth ringing around cheers Joe1 point

Thanks for the very informative post Jim, as you are aware from my previous posts, the car is on 18 inch Tritons, and the Nevis rims are reasonably priced at a tad over £700 Inc. tyres with a good 7mm, so I thought it was worth a punt, but having read what other connoisseurs of the marque are writing, I am beginning to think this is a step too far.1 point

Welcome to the 2016 Annual Brighton Convoy & Meet This event will be taking place on 29th May 2016 - with the main venue being Madiera Drive on the Brighton seafront as usual. It is a Jaguar EXCLUSIVE event! This year I have been working on gaining much more industry support than previously, more prizes, freebies, discounts, even specialists on site to chat to.. hopefully ensuring that everyone has a fantastic Jaguar day to remember! The initial meeting point will be Pease Pottage Services, with an indoor area set aside for us and 20% discount on anything from Costa (remember to say you are with the JaguarForums.com event to get your discount) to help get your day started. The Welcome Packs will be handed out at this point, and the main features of the day covered. There will then be a convoy down to the Brighton seafront, creating a huge Jaguar statement with up to 100 cars, all setting up camp in one huge parking block in Madiera Drive. There will be a fixed price breakfast laid on for attendees on arrival in Brighton, at a cost of £4.99 for the recommended (two of everything :-)) breakfast, plus drinks at individual prices or £2.60 for unlimited drinks. We are booked in the Harvester in Madiera Drive - remember to say you are with the JaguarForums.com event when ordering. The only other cost for the day is the parking which is likely to be £3.20 for one hour, £5.20 for 2 hours, £10.40 for 4 hours or £15.60 for 11 hours (Brighton Council are reviewing the rates in April though ). CaptainHam has suggested setting up & using the pay by phone parking app on your phone prior to the day (saves fishing around in pockets for change, or in this case, notes) Our itinerary for the day is: 07:45 Sharp Meet at Pease Pottage Services for Welcome Packs and a quick rundown of the day. remember we have an indoor area set saside for us and to get your 20% discount on Costa products by saying you are with the JaguarForums.com event! 08:20 Depart in convoy from Pease Pottage Services for Madiera Drive, Brighton 09:00-10:00 We are booked into the Madiera Harvester for breakfast - they recommend the two of everything for £4.99 plus drinks - remember to state you are with the JaguarForums.com event as they are setting an area aside for us. 10:00 -12:30 General socialising, car inspections, & meet the industry specialists we have onsite. 12:30 Group signing of event banner and photo shoots for the forums, Twitter and Facebook. 12:45 Main prize draw, drawn by Tony from Harwoods Jaguar 12:55 Secondary draw of some specialist items, drawn by the RevsUK team. 13:00 Rowan & Tony will announce the winner of 'Best Turned Out Jaguar' Plus, if you want to make a weekend of it, we have teamed up with HolidayInn Express in Crawley and have a fixed discounted rate of £54 a night for attendees, plus guaranteed availability of rooms for us :-) please see their details below, or follow this link HolidayInn Express Crawley. Hi Monty. and welcome to the Club, While the Jag Specialists are very good they are a two hour [minimum] drive from Redditch. Andrew has pointed you in a good direction, and there is also a very well thought of Jaguar Specialist in Northfield, just a short drive up the road. Lets us know how you get on. Regards, Peter.1 point

Hi Monty and welcome, There is a pinned thread in the "Jaguar Owners Lounge" for recommended garages, you might need to have a trawl through though. Cheers Andrew1 point

Andy, I had a similar problem a few years ago on a previous car except it was the passenger footwell, could not trace the source for love nor money. Took the Nozel off my hose (to give gentle flow ) and got my son to pass over the doors windscreen and roof slowly while I sat in the car, hey presto, traced to a blocked duct on the sunroof. Sorted it with a straightened wire coat hanger very gently pushing down the duct. If you don't have a sunroof, the hose trick might get you a bit closer to the source. Cheers Andrew1 point

I took it back and they replaced the Pirelli tyres with Goodyear Eagles. They said it was Pirelli that recalled them.. Since changing the tyres, I have not had that knocking/rumbling noise but I can't work out why as the new tyres are the same size and spec. Still puzzled and a bit suspicious of the recall but at least I've got 4 new tyres and the problem solved.1 point

HI your a bit of a drive away from me, so that would be a no. I only do mine because, I don't trust most garages, at least if I have done it myself, I know its been done and done right. you see that many things done wrong at garages, they don't treat your car nice, there's that many video's now, off dash cams where people have gone in for service work and there car only get abused, I know it now all garages, its nice if you know someone who works at a garage who you can trust to do work. cheers Joe1 point

Thanks Jim, Current mileage is just 27000 so I was hoping all would be well with the beast. Jag Main Dealer give a 30 day return policy so I'll take her back at the end of next week and ask them to check it all out. Hopefully they'll know what it is and sort it for me, if not, they can make a space on their forecourt for it :-) Will let you know how I get on. Kev1 point
