  1. Hi Dan Yes I have just checked my Handbook and it definitely says that if 'DPF Full' shows drive for 20 minutes at a minimum of 30 mph, I think a lot of people think they need to "give it a blast" to clear the soot whereas it just needs to reach normal operating temperature for long enough (20 mins) to do the job! Hopefully yours will settle down now that it's in your hands as 42,000 miles is not a lot for an eight your old Jaguar. Regards Kevan

  2. Hi Peter Thanks have searched settings and mute was ok checked wiring to DVD and found optical connector was disconnected and connected to the cd changer, will need to get a 4 way lead so I can reconnect the DVD player as well as the cd changer. only discovered it yesterday so now looking out for a 4 way fibre optic lead to replace the one in there which labelled CDDJ, NAV & VOICE/PHONE. I assume jaguar must make such a beast Regards, Alan

  3. Hi Peter , yes the better grade of fuel has made a marked difference to performance ( much more responsive when you put your foot down and mpg ) and eliminating the DPF problems , still give the car a good run regularly which is what it's all about . All the best Alan

  4. Hi Peter And welcome as well. I am coming up 1 year as an S type owner (my first Jag) and I absolutely love it! I am presuming should you find one, it will be your first Jaguar? it makes me smile, with pride every time I get in or out of her and always give her a friendly little pat on the dash she has been a bit of a pain, but just like SWMBO, you have to pander to her, and some times get your wallet out! Mine does not have all the bells and whistles so cant comment on that side of things, your budget will define what you get, but I find the seats comfortable, the ride is quite stiff on mine, so can only imagine the comfort on those cars with softer suspension / larger tyres. She gets admiring glances, and cars on motorways tend to pull into the middle lane, when they see her approaching in the rear view (I kid you not) I do very little mileage, so running costs not a problem for me, £60 - ish a month for a full tank, MPG approx. 23.4 my right foot has a mind of its own.. The upshot is would I change her for another car? of course I would, but it would have a growler badge on it somewhere! Regards Steve
