  1. Hey all, just thought I would introduce myself. Bought my 07 plate S-Type 3.0 Auto just over a month ago and loving it. Used this forum for research before making the leap and now I'm a proud S-Type owner I can join the ranks.

  2. Thanks Russ. Yes Im battling with doing several jobs on the Disco at the same time. Just had a chassis spruce up for the MOT that involved a few new bits and I have an abundance of other new parts like radiator/calipers/hubs to put on it...but as you will know, owning two vehicles that need constant TLC...time becomes limited! Will keep you posted.

  4. It didn't work. The guy who suggested it, who is, in fairness, a professional vehicle electrical technician, insisted it should and that I must have a faulty sensor or wiring. He then said that I should simply buy a complete aftermarket kit and fit that, as it will be cheaper than even one second-hand sensor. This surprised me...but he was right! A quick peruse of fleabay showed many available for a few quid. £16.00 saw a complete system delivered the next day, four sensors, control box, small colour screen and all cabling. I fitted it, with the screen unobtrusively top right of the windscreen and all cables hidden, and it works a treat, the screen giving a graphic representation of the car. A bonus is that the sensors are hard wired and potted, so should be impervious to bad weather.

  5. Thank you for the link. That is not a lot money when you think about it, I may well get one. I would like some R rear lights, they're silly money. But I have a plan to tint my own, not the lens itself but inside. I'll let you know how it goes. My Discovery is far from ready for rust proofing, learning to weld better is my next task.. Waxoiling/filthy weekend:

  6. I'd have said the image of the BMW driver had improved in recent years; it's the Audis that are most driven by unpleasant, pushy people you wouldn't want to invite to dinner these days.

  8. Not me, Joe. Those that think that should have a look around them when they are driving, and realise that Audi Drivers need to be in front of you and BMW drivers are always trying to force others to move over when they want to overtake by flashing their lights and tailgating. There are a lot of Jaguars where I live and the drivers are impeccably courteous. Peter.
