  2. Could only mean its out of adjustment after the replacement so I agree with John----go back to the Specialists who fitted the new clutch as soon as possible because its up to them to put it right free of charge ???

  3. A clutch slipping at anytime is not good news and if so doing it is wearing. I am surprised you have not already contacted the specialist fitters or been back with the car. The sooner you get in touch with them or back to them the better, before they start trying to blame it on you and a driving style. Best Wishes in getting it replaced, Regards, John

  4. I have noticed that just recently there has been a big increase in advertising ECHOCHIP fuel MPG improvement chip on Social Media advertising. In my lifetime (72 years, 54 as a driver) there is history of various claims to increase fuel economy for next to no investment. This latest chip, which is plugged in through the vehicles OBD 11 port, is only a few pounds on Ebay and other like sources, depending on which of many buyers you purchase from. It claims to monitor you (the driver) over some 200 Kms and then starts to alter the ECU the settings of the vehicles ECU to give you vast fuel economy improvements. My first reaction was "Who would allow a cheap unknown plug in chip manufactured in China to start altering the ECU in their vehicle." Why would this be able to better than what is already probably programmed to give as good an economy v performance by the manufacturer or supplier. I attempted to find some evidence of : does it actually work, does it potentially or actually cause any damage to the engine. It would seem from the information I have found that the chip is, to put it mildly, yet another con/scam from the Far East that is being perpetuated by Social Media and the likes of Ebay and Amazon amongst other sources. There are two YouTube videos that would appear to be showing that the product does not actually do anything at all and is wired in such a manner as to just produce different coloured flashing lights on the chip casing. Both are listed below for anyone interested: I feel the age old "You get nothing. for nothing ", applies only too well here. Best Wishes and Regards, John

  6. Hi all I have just had a new clutch fitted to my Jaguar X type 2.1 petrol and it's slipping, if I come down to 2nd gear when turning into a road it slips as I accelerate and if I'm overtaking on a motorway I can feel it slip. Is there a bedding in period or could they have fitted the wrong clutch. The are suppose to be clutch specialists and have good reviews.
