  1. I averaged about 29.4 miles per US gallon of Premium Fuel from North Plains, Oregon to TIjuana BCN, MX. This was 98% freeway driving and I enjoyed most of my time behind the wheel. Happy spring everyone!

  2. Thanks, John! Actually, the battery is disconnected, so that method does not work either. :(. I was able to remove the side pillars in the rear seat, and the bottom bolts from the rear seat, and using an extension tool then disengage one of the seats to fold forward. This allowed be to reach the manual boot hood release (escape) latch located at the back of the compartment on the boot lid itself.

  5. So, you can't access the boot due to the battery being dead? If so, try this.....

  6. Thanks, Julie! I had done that, unfortunately, my key was never cut. This allowed be to reach the manual boot hood release (escape) latch located at the back of the compartment on the boot lid itself.

  8. Just a quick word of advice here folks. Fuel flap cable appeared to be broken and I bought a (very expensive) new cable, only to find it was an ultra-cheap fix requiring a new spring! I hadn't opened the new cable packaging and was abale to return. Daft mistake on my part though!

  10. The X-Type can be a very good car if maintained correctly and has had quite a bit of bad press. They did have issues with timing chains the same as Mondeo's but again, comes down to how the car has been maintained and driven
