Perhaps you should factor into your intended budget, or negotiations to purchase, the consideration that you may have to have the Cambelt and associated items replaced just to be on the safe side and for peace of mind. Far better to be safe than sorry as a cambelt failure could lead to major repair bills.

Although age and mileage are important, what is probably more important is that the car you buy should have a provable, recorded service history. Previous MOT`s and advisories will also often provide interesting history.

I believe the recommendation is between 105000 and 112000 miles.
I know mine is due soon. Personally, I would rather Jaguar did mine for peace of mind, however, I have a back street garage close by who specialises in Jaguar, so I may give them a try as opposed to the dealer. Its a pricey job, especially for a V6!!!
