Quite possibly due to the position of it. Pretty sure the rear subframe has to be dropped to change it, so all in all, quite a big job for something relatively small.1 point

I agree with Craig - ceramic coating is the way forward! I'm now running my second XF, had both coated, current one is really dark blue metallic (Loire Blue?), always looks great! J1 point

If its a bit of added protection your looking for , take a look at ceramic coatings , I've used them for years and you only need to do it every 6-12 months , adds a beautiful shine that lasts ages and prevent dirt from sticking so you don't need to wash it as much 👍1 point
