  1. hi YES it fine, can recomend CTEK smart chargers , can be left on all the time, with battery in situ, will keep the battery tip top, I've got one on my S-type R and never had any faults in over 7 years just check the battery vent tube is present, should be a vent pipe on the battery that goes out the back of the car, so any gases produced dont build up in the boot, sometimes left off when a new battery is fitted cheers Joe

  3. Hi Getting new ones is tricky at the moment and also this is my MLCC (mid life crisis car) and have already spent loads more (inevitably) than i should have done so trying to keep the costs down a bit. I can get Diesel cats all over the place - but not the 3.0 petrol. For interest I have: replaced 2 of the 20" Sepangs with 'better' ones put 4 x Continental rain sports on Replace ALL of the front suspension arms and bushes - handles great now New rear Discs Serviced - inc plugs (which is what took out the cat as a coil pack then failed) Replace the GSM phone module with a Bluetooth one from an X-Type Modded the radio for an Aux input and together with a 7" Tablet and an Echo Auto now have voice activated bluetooth streaming and functional sat nav aded a lower mesh grille fixed the drivers side door mirror Oddest bit is the clock - which runs backwards All fun!

  4. Jaguar recommend changing the 3.0D belt at 112,000m or 10years if vehicle has been subject to normal road use. So you still still have time to save up..£££s.. The Jaguar offical book time given is 4:30hrs. And should be invoiced at! And not charged for the time wrote on the technicians job sheet which would probably include chatting to there mates & tea breaks.. Whether still available Jaguar was doing a promotional offer?? On 3+ year old cars at £439.00 for a belt change including all parts & anti freeze..At that mileage while stripped down it would be false economy not to consider having the high-pressure fuel pump driven belt changed at the same time? Plus water pump and a replacement cam belt pulley bolt.
