  1. Hi Arnold, unless your buttons look like this, you haven't got folding mirrors.

  2. The buttons in the centre console om my XF have become sticky over time. I understand it's to do with the button surface. Can anybody say what's best to get rid of the sticky without destroying the buttons please

  3. Well this is how mine turned out after cleaning with the stuff above on a 12 year old car. At first I thought the same, that they were too far gone (and I'm not saying yours are not) but I didn't think they were recoverable. I was really surprised at the results - sorry, I'm not the best photographer:

  4. Well I'm usually wary about recommending stuff but all I can say is the stuff I mentioned earlier was recommended to me and it worked for me, and my car is 12 years old and apart from a quick so-called valet from the dealer it didn't look as though it had been cleaned since the day it left the showroom. Even if it doesn't work on the buttons, you've got a large bottle of decent interior cleaner for £6 delivered. Surely it's worth a punt?

  5. I'm not sure about these buttons now. After a successful cleaning I was pleased but then the gunge re-appears within 48 hours whether the switch is touched or not.

  6. Any good internal car cleaner should do it. It will only be residue from sweat from hands etc. that's built up over time. Mine was the same when I first got it, I originally thought they had worn and faded but I bought an interior cleaner, cleaned them up and now they look like new. It also worked well on the headlining so it looks like a good all rounder, can't say for sure because I knocked the bottle over after that and the top was loose so I lost most of it, but it was good enough for me to order it again. Just waiting for the new bottle now. This was the stuff I bought: DiamondBrite Car Interior Cleaner Trigger Car Detergent, Rubber Spray Cleaner 696535269250 | eBay

  7. Many people I have seen report a marked improvement by using face wipes on the soft buttons in the car.

  8. As feedback and thanks for the answers. I tried make up remover wipes and they seem to have done a very good job. Clearly, long term might be different but so far...

  9. Would not use wd40. Would get some internal detailer from Maguires or something similar with lint cloth. Helps

  11. Hi Ian, Yes, exactly that. I live in West Sussex, took my XF to "All That Gleams", near Guildford in Surrey. They did a complete valet and applied the ceramic coating. It took a few hours (large car), but the appearance is well worth it, and I had a long breakfast while reading a book in the nearby pub! Cheers, Jon

  12. Hi All, Andrew here from a little coastal town called Donaghadee in Northern Ireland. 30 Year Old & Have just bought my 1st Jaguar. Always liked them growing up as a family member bought a brand new X-Type 2.2d Sport Saloon and i fell in love with it back then and have took the plunge and bought a 2009 X-Type 2.2d S Estate 155bhp Manual. I got a fantastic deal on the car that i couldnt refuse. 1 Mature Jag Enthusiast Owner From New. Full Years MOT. Full Jag Service History. 4 New Tyres. Just Fully Serviced. Both Aux Belts & Tensioners Changed. Full Valet & Detail inside and out. all for less than £2k. So i couldnt let it go. Only slight downside to it there is 136k on the clock. But it looks like a car with 50k or less on the clock. You think its a good deal ? Drove car. All is tight. Suspenion good. Drives Straight. Quiet. And started from dead cold on first turn of the key. No Smoke. And Rock Solid underneath. Including Sill's !!! Only thing i would like some advice on is the Timing Chain. I read they are good for 200k if Services well. Which this one has been and I always give motors full Service (Oil's & Filters) every 10k. So do you think i should be fine for a while yet ? I have added couple of pics here to show you what I have purchased. So here I am, 30 Years "Young" Driving an old mans Jag 🙂 . So Hello to everyone again and I look forward to becoming a Club Member soon and chatting with you all on the Forums. Regards, Andrew
