  2. The standard side light on our Jag is a feeble effort given todays vehicles so I decided to increase the Lux by 'swapping' the 5 watt filament bulb with an H3 led. What is good about the H3 is that it is the same width as the filament bulb and will fit thru the mounting hole into the reflector. The H3 was pulled apart and the driver removed with a copper strip board soldered in place. This allows the H3 to plug in to the standard bulb holder. The driver was soldered in line and connected to the loom with crimp connectors. It fills the reflector with light now but is not so bright to dazzle. The original bulb is approx 8 lumens, the H3, 20 lumens.

  4. Hi All, as per the title, i'm looking at getting a stainless exhaust for my 3.0 S-Type but as you can imagine, internet searches return a maze of possible solutions from all-out race exhausts to those that are standard replacements but seem too cheap. Has anyone had a stainless exhaust built/fitted, found one "off the shelf" or similar and can give some recommendations/experiences so i have a few starting points for further investigation please? Looking to retain the quietness but with a slightly sporty, deeper note - nothing wild or "boy racer". I did find one on YouTube that seemed to meet what i was looking for but the maker of the system and/or the builder/fitter seems nowhere to be found. I'm not in a hurry to do this, probably about 6-9 months time (when spring/summer is here again) as the more time i have to investigate, the more chance i have of getting what i want at the price that i want to pay. Thanks in advance!

  5. Holy thread resurrection Batman! A year on, i finally got the Adamesh rer silencers fitted today! Ordered them back in May, arrived in June 😮 and life has got in the way of living since! Went to fit them last week only to discover they'd sent a pair of S Type R rear silencers! All fairness to Adamesh, they sent a replacement pair out and have arranged to collect the wrong pair. I need to fabricate a new bracket for the NS hanger (that will be another thread though) but the (correct) silencers fitted easily and sound great - exactly what i was after in fact! Nice burble on idle, slight rasp with a louder growl on acceleration and just as quiet cruising. That said my test drive didn't really get up to real cruising speeds but knowing how it sounds at various speeds, fairly certain at cruising speeds it will be quiet still. I now have a pair of standard rear silencers, free to a good home. They're 24 years old and still look like new amazingly!

  6. I believe the side indicator (the one behind the front wheel) which everyone is saying there's a bulb behind isn't painted, he's just replaced the orange lens with a clear one. I have done the exact same. I was surprised there weren't any clear reflector replacements anywhere! The orange really looks horrific.

  7. No Leo they are reflectors they don't have bulbs in them. Only U.S spec have them I think. I saw a picture that someone else had done and decided to have it done on mine cause I didn't like the reflectors. I don't know really why they put them there I've never liked them.
