  1. Evening, I'm the proud owner of a 1997 XJ6 Executive I won on a raffle. I've never been in one or driven one, so absolute novice and learner here with Jaguar brand. I've got the logbook in my name and I've taxed it. Waiting for Adrian Flux to call me tomorrow, but quoted £253.99 for fully comp insurance. Collect next Saturday in Montrose and can start adventuring 😄 It shall need O/S/F sill welded, radio looked into and the advisories sorted (bushes all round pretty much), plus TLC on the roof paint, but all minor stuff. It may even do Rust2Rome (Edinburgh to Rome) via the French Alps if I can convince my friend to leave his Suzuki Swift at home 😉 3.2l, straight 6, Executive X300 body. Think I might have to wear black and silver next week to compliment the car, plus a backpack of "stuff" just in case lol

  2. The DAB radio in my 2008 XF has stopped working. (The rest of the audio system works fine). My local friendly car-electrics guy says the DAB module needs replacing, but if I get a second-hand one (a new one is around £450+VAT - not worth it for a 10-year-old car) it will need to be re-coded to the car. My local Jag dealer says that re-coding is not necessary, or indeed possible, and that if I get a second-hand unit fitted it should work. Before I shell out £80-100 for a second-hand DAB unit, is there anyone out there who has any experience of this and can advise me, please?

  3. Evening All, I have a 2006 XK 4.2 Convertible which i have owned for 2 + years without any trouble to date, it's been a truly great car. However just today i have no windscreen washers even though the resorvoir bottle is full and the wipers work just fine, Any ideas what could be the problem would be appreciated? Regards, Paul.

  5. Morning John. The car has been laid up over winter so that could be part of the problem. The message came back a couple of times over the weekend but now the codes tell me that it's 'Reservoir pressure implausible' which I think usually points to compressor. All wheel heights look fine and the compressor was overhauled a few years ago. Going for a run today with the icarsoft plugged in and my long suffering better half recording data. If she doesn't get bored and we don't fall out I'll report back.

  6. The XK8 is Kate for obvious reasons and the X350 is Big Bertha although my wife has other names for it when trying to find the perfect parking place in the seemingly tiny spaces at the supermarket.
