HI This sounds like you have a problem with some of the glow plugs. The car will turn itself off if there is a fault. It may have logged a code in the engine management system so you should try and see if one is available by having your car connected to a diagnostic machine.

Hi and welcome to the Jaguar Ownrs Club Yes it sounds like a sticky thermostat.. best get it changed. The suspension could be worn or dried out bushes squeaking -
is it burnt diesel from the exhuast or new fresh diesel?
