Hi I recently had a problem with the touchscreen failing to boot up properly. This was fixed by changing out the bluetooth module beneath the Left front seat.. The cause of the problem was water getting into the area, it was saturated. This seems to be a fairly common problem. I am try to find where the water is getting in and have found a fault in the door seal but I am not convinced that it is the cause. Has anyone else had the problem and traced the leak to elsewhere on the car, to give me a clue as to where to start looking? Thanks

Thanks for the advice. New sensor was fitted along with the brake pads. Is there a way of changing the sensor without stripping down the pads or caliper? Thanks

2010 XF 3.0 I recently had a brake pad low warning message so yesterday had pads and discs replaced. Brakes work fine but have started getting brake pad warning light again. They disconnected the battery when they did it and so there are various other electrical adjustments to make, including window regulators. Is there a way of resetting the electrics or getting rid of the brake warning light? I can't take it to a dealer as I live in Spain and don't have one. Thanks

Hi Joe When I turn it on max Lo I get cold air from drivers side dash vents and warm air from passenger side air vents. I am told the heater control valve in the engine has been replaced and that the problem is with the climate control module in the dashboard. Would you know if the climate control module forms part of the AC / heater control panel on the dash or is it tucked away somewhere else? It is a 1999 3.0 V6 Thanks

I have a 1999 3.0 V6 I have just got it back from the garage after replacing the throttle body and accelerator pedal to deal with a failsafe engine mode problem. As they disconnected the battery I now need to put in the radio security code and seem to have run into a problem The four figure code contains a 0 and a 9 but the preset buttons are 1-4 Any suggestions welcomed. I asked Jaguar customer service and they don't know and no-one at a dealership knew either. I am in Spain and the nearest dealership to me is a four hour drive.

My 1999 3.0 stopped working this morning. Failsafe engine mode message and red light so the engine just cut all power, although the engine was still running. I was lucky, I was on a quiet road and was able to come to an orderly stop out of harms way. Has anyone experienced this in heavy traffic, on a motorway say? If I had been doing 70MPH in the outside lane of a busy motorway what might have happened? I couldn't drive and ease my way off the carriageway, I just lost all engine power immediately. On a busy motorway what are the chances that I would have been rear ended? It strikes me this is a very unsafe function. A warning light with "STOP" in large red letters would have a similar effect without stopping you in potentially a very dangerous situation. Anyone want to but a 1999 3.0 V6 S Type. Perfect condition, no known faults .

Had to be towed in this morning. Just popped out to the next village to get petrol and the failsafe plus red light came on and engine lost power. Tried all the normal stuff but wouldn't work. The problem now is that my wife won't travel in the car even as a passenger (if we could get the A/C to work) let alone drive it. I love driving it but I just have no faith in it. If I could sell it I would but you wouldn't sell it here without A/C and I just don't want to throw any more money at it. It is a real shame because when it is working right (30 minutes last Wednesday) it is a lovely car. So far it has cost us 5,500 euros. The AC, sun roof and cruise control still don't work and now the problem with engine failsafe. What will happen next time I try ti o use it? Hate to say it but it has been the worst car I have ever owned. I knew I should have bought the Lexus.

Driving home tonight when this came up. Seems to happen when driving very slowly. It is so frustrating as I really like driving the car but I just can't trust it. I have owned Citroens that were more reliable than this. I am hoping a scan will reveal what the problem is this time. Unfortunately I don't have a Jaguar dealership within a 4 hour drive.

Hi Gary Thanks for that. I have seen this website but they only work on post facelift models, although they do mention pre face lift. They suggest a series of electrical tests which I am not equiped for. I should have said that the DCCV in the engine bay has been replaced. The mechanic who replaced it said that the problem is now in the Climate Control Valve or possibly module, he said both. Can I assume that this is not part of the workings behind the front panel?

I have a 1999 3.0 V6. At the moment my Air Con is not working as it should. I have cold air from the drivers side dash vents and warm air from the passengers side. I have been told that it is the Climate Control valve in the dashboard that is faulty. I have the chance to buy a used unit which is the control panel from the dashboard, with all buttons on etc. I have two questions. Dose this panel and the works attached to it contain the suspect Climate Control Valve? How easy or difficult is it to remove and replace this panel? DIY or professional job? Thanks for advice and assistance, I think I am finally getting there. Everything else on the car works as it should now, apart from this.

The leather trim in my car has the code NED which I understand is ivory. I am trying to buy a dash part which is a much darker colour. The only other trim code on the door plate is HP but I can't find it anywhere and it would be useful to have a name. Any clues on how to find out the name of the colour. 1999 3.0
