  1. Hi Big Al, Just an update for your/ anyone else's reference! Firstly, it's not a Daimler, it IS a jag XJ6. Second, I took it to Jag main dealer and they said it needed a new brake pressure kit, costing £450 inc fitting... ouch! Took it to my local garage and between then and waiting for a straight answer on how much cheaper they could do it for, it's fixed itself! Found out the girl had been sat stagnant since 1998... so it must've thought there was something wrong when there wasn't. Here's to crossing my fingers and hoping it stays fixed! Thanks for your help mate
  2. I have the same problem lol! I'm just living with it as opposed to spending fortunes
  3. JETHRO TULL!
  4. Hi Al, Thanks for the reply, it has been serviced regularly (FSH, which for an 88 is quite incredible I think!) and yes I'm certainly hoping it's only going to be something silly like a sensor or a fuse. Got it back last night and the garage said they've done all they can mechanically to try and solve the problem but no joy, so I've got her booked in with Jaguar on Wednesday so they can plug it into one of their computers and hopefully diagnose the problem - this is only costing £50 which I'm quite happy about! Then, fingers crossed, if it's only something small I'll get the work done and enjoy driving it again!
  5. Hello all! I recently became the extremely proud owner of a 1988 Jaguar Sovereign 3.6L. It's absolutely beautiful to look at, smooth as hell to drive and drenched in leather and walnut! My grandad had one for years, so as soon as I saw it I fell in love. However, there is a problem with the ABS, it thinks I'm skidding and makes some very interesting noises as a result! It's booked into my local garage tomorrow so they can try and find out what the problem is, hopefully it's just a sensor or something but it could be more than the car is worth to repair it, which I'm not adverse to as I absolutely love the car, but it is rather worrying. Any help or advice from someone who knows about this or has heard about it before would be very much appreciated :-) Happy driving Jag-lovers!
