  1. I would definitely advise using a Faraday pouch to store your keys in (both keys so you'll need two pouches) Also a physical deterrent such as a Krooklock is ideal to deter would be thieves as it is something else for them to get past
  2. What are you hoping to achieve by changing the carburettors, is it performance gains or is it for reliability? I always found that the HIF setup always delivered both performance and relaibility but had to be set up correctly in the first place (e.g. vacuum, linkages, etc)
  3. Hi Guillaume....welcome to the Club The 2.7TD loves to have its legs stretched so the French autoroutes are ideal for giving it a good run. Enjoy it and good to have you onboard
  4. Which model Jaguar and engine are the carbs to fit? Nothing showing in your profile You could contact Burlen fuel services in Salisbury as they are the SU carb dealer in the UK and they will be able to offer assistance
  5. Topic moved to XK8 section, hopefully owners of this model can assist with your enquiry
  6. https://www.toolstoday.co.uk/irwin-bolt-grip-fastener-remover-expansion-set-of-5?gclid=Cj0KCQjwytOEBhD5ARIsANnRjVhNSfE7Zc8K73_PpcpdjzSU20LPNYKJeMR8y1wL12RpgRH3yAb7x5EaAjQ2EALw_wcB I have used these in the past to remove nuts and studs as long as you can find one the diameter of the wheel nut and then hammer on to then remove
  7. Hi Bazzer Dorset Sports Car in West Moors are Jaguar specialists otherwise can recommend Brook Road Garage in Wimborne as a reliable independent garage that can resolve your issue
  8. That does seem very premature as this part should not wear that quickly unless it is of poor quality. I would address this with your dealer especially as it a steering component. Also, bear in mind that if one side has gone the other side will go shortly as it is doing the same work
  9. You can post it here and add some photos if possible https://www.jaguarownersclub.com/forums/forum/25-jaguar-parts-and-accessories-for-sale/
  10. Sounds like a DPF issue or even turbo variable vanes sticking due to restricted driving and the opportunity to rev it hard to clear out Nothing a good clear out of the engine wouldn't cure, may need to run some additives through the engine as well
  11. Hi Andy....welcome to the Club Perfect car now the weather has turned warmer....enjoy! Can only recommend fitting some sort of visor over the display which can be fitted to SatNavs, etc Good to have you onboard and feel free to post up some photos of the XK
  12. HI Swagger ....welcome to the Club Feel free to ask any questions and if you would like to respond to any posts, feel free to dive in Good to have you onboard
  13. Hi Joe You and your mechanic are correct that if you listen to the engine and ensure that correct maintenance is always carried out, ahead of schedule then there is no reason to believe the car will not go on for years. However, being equipped with a diesel of a large capacity and turbocharged, they do need running at high revs to keep them clean and free moving. If you have no motorways in Malta then this could be an issue unless you can keep the revs high by manually selecting lower gears which would ensure the engine ran clean. Problems which can be associated with insufficient engine revs are turbocharger variable vanes sticking in place due to carbon deposits, DPF blocking up and not able to regenerate, EGR valves sticking, carbon build up in intake system and increased engine wear and tear (sticking piston rings in worst case scenario, leading to lowered compression and fuel washdown, etc). You seem to have plenty of technical knowledge Joe, which allows you to make personal choices and decisions and this in itself will give you an awareness of things not going in the right direction.....maybe the DPF delete is the way forward as the rules are different in Malta. Will certainly get in touch next time I am over your way, haven't been there for quite some time though. Regards, Trevor

  17. Hi....welcome to the Club Sounds like you have a good plan in place....let us know how you get with acquiring one
  18. Maybe eBay is the best place to gauge a value by starting with one at a low price and see how it bids up so you know rough price for when you sell the others
  19. Hi Jax....welcome to the Club It is either a case of the reading the handbook/manual from cover to cover or just focusing on the smaller picture of what you need to know at the time and learning as you go along....it can get quite overwhelming trying to suss out all the gadgets 🙂 Good to have you onboard!
  20. Hi Vince.....welcome to the Club Welcome also to the wonderful world of Jaguar! Good to have you onboard!
  21. Hi Joesph.....welcome to the Club Its one of those things that is quite commonplace on a lot of modern engines and with the constant thought of oil pump or timing chain failure in your mind it can detract from the enjoyment of driving and owning the car. I would personally service it to the hilt and enjoy it and not let the concerns put you off....saying that though I would still listen out for any noises that weren't there before to be on the safe side 🙂 Good to have you onboard!
  22. Hi Martyn.....welcome to the Club Exciting times ahead then 🙂 Good to have you onboard!
  23. Hi Wayne.....welcome to the Club Welcome also to the wonderful world of Jaguar Good to have you onboard!
  24. Hi Alan.....welcome to the Club Hopefully you can find the next Jaguar of your dreams (or memories to be more precise). It will go well with the collection of cars and bikes you already have Good to have you onboard!
