  6. Hi Nigel.....welcome to the Forum Quite some provenance with the car Good to have you onboard!
  7. Hi Barrie Sounds like it could be the trunking containing the wiring to the drivers door that may contain the problem. As the door opens and closes the wiring (within the trunking) articulates and can result in the wires breaking. An easy way to try it is to hold the door open and while pressing the window switch down, try wiggling the wiring to hopefully make the circuit (broken wire) and if the window moves the your problem is within this area. I am in Bournemouth area if you get completely stuck for assistance Cheers, Trevor

  12. Hi Dennis.....welcome to the Forum Glad to hear you are happy with the Jag and sounds like it was important work that needed carrying out like any other car to maintain its road-worthiness. It is always satisfying seeing the difference it makes after cleaning the plastic lenses 🙂 Good to have you onboard
  13. Go for it....photos always enhance an advert
  14. Hi Craig.....welcome to the Forum Headlamp washers work when the headlights are switched on and the washers activated. You'll probably need someone to flick the windscreen washers while you are round the front of the car looking to see if the jets appear. Good to have you onboard
  15. Hi Andrew....welcome to the Forum Great introduction! Good to have you onboard
  16. Hi Tony As Peter has mentioned, the F-PACE section of the forum is a lot quieter than other sections. However, the forums do have a lot of 'Lurkers' who like to view the information but not necessarily post in them. This does tend to create a sort of GhostTown feeling but the forums are quite heavily visited over time. If you have any suggestions to add any particular section within the forums, such as Peter has suggested about general discussion topics or something a bit more specific then please let us know and we would be happy to integrate it into the forums. Regards. Trevor
  17. Hi, welcome to the Forum Certain XF servo's superceeded the S-Type servo with a later number. A quick search on this site may reveal the number in one of the posts. Seem to also recall David Manners had something on their website. Replaced one a while ago and found corrosion on the valve which was letting air out from the vacuum side and was noticable by the noise emitted when applying the brake. Could not repair it so was scrap. Fitted a later XF one which worked a treat.
  18. Hi Brian ..... welcome to the Club Welcome back also to the wonderful world of Jaguar! Plenty of good information on here to keep your S Type in good running order Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  19. Hi Dave....welcome to the Club ...and welcome to the wonderful world of Jaguar It's a fine looking XF and glad you're happy with it, who wouldn't be 🙂
  20. Hi.....welcome to the Forum
  21. Hi Andrew I think it may be wise to leave the bonnet open in the sun and let things dry out and then go through each individual component that could have been affected. It may be worth leaving the cambelt till last to assume its that at fault and saves tearing the engine down for something that may be a simple cure. I would start with any ignition components and sensor (including crank and cam sensors as these can fit the symptoms you are describing) As long as the engine did not chronically overheat then the internals and gaskets should be fine. Let us know how it goes and what you find
