  1. Hi Darren....welcome to the Club Great choice of car...the XFRS is definitely one to be reckoned with ! I think you definitely have the right idea with regards to over-servicing as this will lead to a greater reliability and drivability and usually show up anything untoward occurring hopefully before it becomes an (expensive) issue. Keep us updated on your search for 'the right car' and good luck Cheers, Trevor
  2. Hi David....welcome to the Club Plenty of information throughout the forum and dedicated XK sections. Any other info you require about Jaguars then feel free to ask away Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  3. Hi Andrew.....welcome to the Club The car looks superb and you seem to have got a bargain there! The good thing is that the check list you had seems to be complete, especially as it seems to have been cherished by the previous owner. Mileage is not a big problem and it has got there by its merits as a good car and having been maintained correctly. Timing chains should not be an issue if the oil and filter has been changed frequently and quality parts and fluid fitted. Good to have you onboard Cheers . Trevor
  4. Hi Sean....welcome to the Forum It sounds like they didn't recheck the level and top it up after changing the filter, when the level will drop by the quantity consumed by the new filter when the engine is run once refilled with fresh oil. Changing the engine oil in the interim is a great way to prolong the life of the engine. As you say, you can always take it back for the services and the oil filter change 🙂 I would however always use a quality engine oil with the correct ACEA specification which will more than likely be the same as the Jaguar supplied oil . Quality brands are Castrol, Mobil, Petronas and some others. Try this company for accurate specification engine oils and keen prices (discount through the club as a Premium Member) https://www.opieoils.co.uk/ Cheers, Trevor
  5. Hi Lucian....welcome to the Forum Plenty of information within the forums especially on servicing the XF, best to use the search facility on the top right corner of your screen Good to have you onboard
  6. Hi Nathan...welcome to the Forum Good to have you onboard
  7. I suppose you could use some adhesive but they should just click into the hole unless they are not fitting correctly (wrong sides possibly)?
  8. Hi Steve If it is losing boost pressure then you will definitely hear it hissing and blowing. The hoses should swell when the revs are raised enough to create boost pressure from the turbocharger. Other areas to investigate would be the EGR being removed and the Engine Management in limp home mode. This could be rectified by refitting the EGR and using a blanking plate (with small hole in the middle) which still allows the system to recognise an EGR and run normally (albeit with no functioning EGR to block up).
  9. Hi Penny....welcome to the Forum Sometimes its easier to follow the path of least resistance and in this case if you are considering upgrading your phone then maybe this is the easiest way forward.
  10. Hi Carl I'm not personally sure about whether or not they will fit but if you have both heads there it would be a case of taking measurements of all passageways, heights, valve lift, etc which will take time but at least you would be certain that nothing untoward would occur by swapping the heads. Would be interested to know how you get on with this Cheers, Trevor
  11. Thanks for the update John....it's also very useful to know the belt part number to bypass the A/C
  12. I've used black shoe polish in the past for any discoloured areas in the leather, just make sure you polish it all out and finish it off with a soft rag to ensure there is no residue left on the seats
  13. Hi John....welcome to the Club Yes, it definitely sounds like the heater resistor pack has gone faulty. Not entirely sure where it is located but generally it is in very close proximity of the blower fan assembly. Try checking in and around the glovebox area first
  14. Does it seem to relate to not working when it is wet or exceptionally cold temperatures?
  15. Hi Scott....welcome to the Club If it is not heating then it is more than likely the seat base element that is faulty (broken pad element) You should be able to remove the seat and examine the element and wiring from the underside and if broken then it may be visible or use a multimeter to check continuity of the connections.
  16. Hi Eric.....welcome to the Club Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with the E-PACE, have heard a few bad things about them, could probably be considered to be teething problems with the new tech but hopefully later editions should have ironed out the issues. Hope the new one is a much improved model and that you can thoroughly enjoy owning and driving it Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  17. Very much agree with this sentiment....As Frank has already mentioned, many thanks for all the valuable assistance you give to the Club members
  18. Happy New Year Joe 😋
  19. Hi Nigel.....welcome to the Forum If you give them your XKR and £7.5k you will end up with 650bhp....sounds reasonable to me. Not sure what the mods are or indeed what the quality of workmanship is like so I would probably refer you to Google to carry out some research on the company, customer reviews, etc. Let us know if you go this route as would love to see how it looks (and goes!) Cheers, Trevor
  20. Hi Roger We are looking to attend more events this year and it could be a possibility that Silverstone Classic could be one of them...depending on numbers of course. Let's see who responds to this post to gauge interest in attending this superb event (I have been before and can highly recommend it)
  21. Hi John....welcome to the Club A fine collection of Jags over the years Good to have you onboard
  22. Hi Brian....welcome to the Club Plenty of info on here, probably best to just cruise through the S-Type section of the forum and read as much as poss to get a good idea of the highs and lows of the model. Usually, there is a recurring theme of a particular fault and hopefully the answers will also be there. Merry Christmas to you as well 🙂
  23. Hi Roger.....welcome to the Club I have moved this post to the S-Type section of the forum as you will more than likely get a response from a fellow S-Type owner in that section. Cheers, Trevor
