  1. Yes you can place an advert (private sale only) in the Cars For Sale section of the forums at no cost
  2. I believe it is a Lucas Opus ignition system and there used to be instructional manuals from Jaguar on the system which may still be available on eBay
  3. UPDATE SHOW INFORMATION ! Please find attached your club label – please can this be distributed amongst your club members prior to the event. Please ensure that they print this label and display it in their windscreen upon entry to the event, this ensures that all members wishing to park within your club area are directed to the correct parking location by our stewards. Please do not modify or add logos to the club label. We do ask that all individuals have purchased their tickets on an individual basis in advance via our website, to speed up the entry process on the day. This can be done on our website here until 2pm on the day when admission closes: https://www.beaulieu.co.uk/events/simply-jaguar. Note that we do have two entrances available, one is exhibitors gate at the bottom of the hill as you come in to Beaulieu, with the other being the normal Simply event entrance within the attraction. Either entrance is fine to use and both are open from 9.00am, with the exhibitors entrance closing around 11am. Jaguar Owners Club (1).pdf
  4. How have you got on with resolving the non-start issue? Any more clues as to why it is not firing up? If the battery is charged and the plugs are new then I assume that checks have been done to see that a spark is present. Then the only other thing is fuel supply. Sometimes fuel goes stale when a car is left parked for a period of time but 3 months is not that long in the scale of things. One other option to check out is that there is no rodent damage to wiring while it has been in the garage as this can be a common cause with cars being laid up over the winter

  7. I guess they all differ and so many companies out there so it would vary quite a bit and chance to haggle on the price I can see you are in Dorset and there is a good company in the Ebblake Industrial estate in Verwood https://totalfilmandvinyl.co.uk/
  8. Hi Bill......welcome to the Club Third Jaguar! ....well there is a saying "you can never have too many Jaguars" even one of our government ministers had two Jaguars (two-jags Prescott as he was known) 🙂 Good to have you onboard!
  9. Hi David....welcome to the Club It sounds more like it was a conversion but back then there were many more coachbuilders than around today so it could have been a conversion for a specific need (hearse or similar). I seem to recall the first production Jaguar estate was the X-Type although there have been bespoke bodies for the XJS (Eventer) and a few others made for the Arab market.
  10. Hi Paul.....welcome to the Club One of the clubs moderators and longtime member @Old Peter may be able to direct you to a reputable repairer in that area as he is based in the West Midlands.
  11. I think this is the dilemma that owners of most vehicles with factory satnav have with expensive updates or reverting to the likes of Waze or TomTom. TomTom do a very reasonably priced satnav for mobiles and works offline unlike so many of the others so you don't have to rely on a phone signal to know where you're going.
  12. You should be able to find the SatNav DVD player behind an access panel on the left hand side of the luggage compartment. If it is not a DVD drive unit then it will be a Hard Disc Drive unit (found on facelift models) Avoid cheap SatNav discs/cards as they can corrupt the system and expensive to resolve. Here is a video to update your SatNav (if applicable to your version)
  13. That was the other thing I remember, you never used it as it would devalue the car as it was then a smokers car and not looked after too well. An unused Cigar Lighter in the car meant something then, even though the headlining may have been yellow with the smoke and many air fresheners to get rid of the smell 🙂
  14. Back in the day, Jaguar and other prestige car manufacturers used to refer to them as 'Cigar Lighters'....obviously for the more discerning gentleman driver
