  1. It sounds as though the door latch mechanism has developed a fault (quite common on these models). The good news is....if the door is unlocked and can be opened then it is an easy replacement job. A new unit would be required if you cannot free the other one up by applying WD40 through the latch aperture. Let us know how you get on with it
  2. Hi Franta The part will almost definitely be available from a specialist seal supplier...however, the part will need to be removed from the unit to match it up exactly. If the seal is only 'weeping' oil rather than 'leaking' oil then I probably wouldn't worry about it too much and you could put an additive in the gear oil to slow it down. Let us know how you get on Regards Trevor
  3. Diagnostic procedure for Memory Systems - S-Type and other models Diagnostic procedures for memory systems.pdf Thanks to Patrick for this information
  4. Here are some diagnostic flowcharts for the S-type but could also apply to other models diagnostic flowchart (1).pdf Thanks to Patrick for this information!

  6. Hi Paul Welcome to the club! That's not fair...getting your new Jag and then not being able to drive it for six weeks. Hope your recovery goes well and that your at least looking forward to driving it when your up and about. Regards Trevor
  7. Definitely picture 2 !!!!
  8. Hi Mark not heard of this one before....let us know how you get on Regards Trevor
  9. Hi James What a shame to see the imperfections on what should be your pride & joy. I do hope that Jaguar UK manage to sort the faults...let us know how you get on please. Having seen the XF being built and the quality of finish that is applied at all stages of the production line, I am surprised that your car has slipped through the normally very stringent quality assurance process. Good luck, Trevor
  10. Hi Joey....Welcome to the club! Hope you continue to enjoy your Jaguar Regards Trevor
  11. Hi Moods Welcome to the club! I take it that the door locks manually with the key? Usually, if the door locking 'bounces' open when locked...this can signify a fault with one of the door latch mechanisms. May be worth looking at whether each door illuminates the interior lamp when the door is opened/closed. Regards Trevor
  12. Hi Geoff Welcome to the club! Good to see you a die-hard Jaguar enthusiast and hope you're enjoying your XF? Regards Trevor
  13. That's definitely the way to work it ! Hope it's not too bent...but sounds like its in the right hands. Good luck with it all...would love to see some before/after photos to show how it pans out? Regards Trevor
  14. Hi Delboy Welcome to the club! Hope to see you posting many more questions in the future and hopefully we, or some members can help you. Let us know how you get on with your XF. Regards Trevor
  15. Hi Darrel .....and welcome to the club! Look forward to hearing from you, whether its technical advice or just updates on your Jag. Regards Trevor
  16. Hi Dave I cannot find a simple fix solution for your Jaguar's problem....I think it may be prudent to drop the car into an electronic specialist who could scan the system to point you in the right direction. Let us know how you get on with this strange fault. Regards Trevor
  17. This may help?.....let us know how you get on...Thanks http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/uksafetycameras-jaguar-xf.php
  18. Hi Alastair Welcome to the club! There are some tutorials manuals for SatNav systems in this forum that may be worth checking out http://www.jaguarownersclub.com/forums/topic/8952-sat-nav-destination-how-to-guide/ Regards Trevor
  19. Hi Paul...and welcome to the club! I would enlist the services of an auto electrical specialist if possible. The vehicle wiring system is pretty well balanced for resistances, etc. If you plug another device into the system it may alter the balance and cause errors further up the line. If the device you have is CanBus approved then it should be ok to just follow the wires to the bulbs and attach into the correct one. Regards, Trevor
  20. there is one on ebay for a six litre sovereign but I would try to repair the existing one... a lot cheaper. You may still be able to find someone who can replace a radiator core unit as they should be able to carry out the repair Regards Trevor
  21. Hi Brian I have found a link that should give you the information about the car...trying to find one may be a little harder though. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jaguar_X-Type
  22. This is very true...and then character Austin Powers materialised! :)
  23. 1 Daimler, 2 Land Rover, 3 Riley, 4 Aston Martin, 5 Morris, 6 Vauxhall, 7 Caterham, 8 MG, 9 Volkswagen, 10 Jaguar, 11 Vanguard, 12 Bentley, 13 Rover, 14 British Leyland, 15 Morgan, 16 Lagonda, 17 Rolls Royce, 18 LDV, 19 Wolseley, 20 Sprint, 21 Mini (new), 22 TVR, 23 Invicta, 24 Lotus I think that's about right...anyone?
  24. Hi This sounds a strange one! My first thoughts are brake pads slightly binding. I would jack up the wheel area and turn the wheel to hear if there are any noises, wobble the wheel side to side and up and down to check for freeplay in any bushes/joints/links. Beyond that, I'm not entirely sure what it could be. Maybe worth putting in the garage for a diagnosis if concerned. Regards, Trevor
  25. Well said Keith...I always advocate...check the basics first! Most of the time it can be a simple (and cheap) fix.
