Hello all,I bought a 2011 XKR convertible yesterday but, until I pick it up next Saturday, I'm sure I'll wake up at some point and realise it was just a delicious dream. The car in question is a 2011 XKR convertible (picture attached if I can work out how to do it).34,000 with speed and black packs. Think it might have the performance active exhaust - I'll deal with this query in the XK section along with some other newby questions.Don't wish to waffle on in my first post but I thought it acceptable to provide some context to my purchase. I'm in my late 30s and I decided 3 years ago to go for the 2 car option and have a comfortable cruiser for the commute and a weekend toy. I bought an L322 Range Rover and TVR Chimaera. The TVR was a long term itch I wanted to scratch and was to be the forerunner of a Tuscan S purchase when funds allowed. Much as I loved the TVR I found myself driving it less and less, especially as with a young son we couldn't go out in it together as a family.I sold the TVR last autumn but with the Range Rover a firm family favourite my wife is taking it on instead of her company BMW 3 Series, allowing me the opportunity to find something new. The criteria was it had to be swift, fun to drive, will fit the 3 of us and have some curb appeal. Having considered all manner of different cars the decision came down to an E63 AMG and an XKR. We loved the Jekyll and Hyde nature of the AMG and it was naturally very comfortable for the three of us. However, the XKR won through because of (in my eyes at least) its classical beauty. Being a convertible means my boy won't be claustrophobic on the back and keeping the Range Rover means we have a family wagon for those cold, wet, miserable winter days.Anyway, I look forward to learning from your collective wisdom and getting to know you a little better
