  1. Hi Paul, Must admit, I'm surprised! Thought electric mirrors were a standard fitment on all XF's! So we all learn something! J
  2. Hi Paul, There should be two buttons (left/right mirror select) and a joystick for adjustment. Pressing the two buttons together should fold/unfold the mirrors Cheers, Jon
  3. Hi Phillip, An old conundrum I've struggled with for ages (even with an early TomTom)! I'd love to believe the SatNav, because I would guess that the speedo overestimates by a bit (two reasons: makes the car look faster, might also save you points). Just had to do a speed awareness waste of time (AKA Speed Awareness Course, of course!) for being flashed at 45 in a 40 limit in the middle of Wales, returning from an Irish ferry. It was 02:00am. How P'd O was I? Enormously!!! They're out to get ya, just play safe!!! J
  4. Hi Frank, I had the same issue with my previous XF. It was caused by a cracked inlet manifold. I don't remember the cost to replace it, but it wasn't exhorbitant.
  5. Hi Paul, I don't know about East Sussex, but if you don't mind a trip to Pulborough, I'd highly recommend Arun Automotive... Codmore Hill Garage, Stane St, Pulborough RH20 1BQ Maybe not too far from Newhaven? Cheers, Jon
  6. Thanks Frank - guess what I'll be doing later!!! Jon
  7. Hi All, My wife is complaining that she has no footwell lighting on the passenger side, while I do behind the wheel. Any thoughts on how easy it is to check / swap a bulb in the footwell? Cheers, Jon
  8. Hi Phil, I've just moved from an X250 S Portfolio to an X260 S with rear climate control (but sadly, no chilled front seats!). I would imagine that retro-fitting rear climate stuff would be a bit of a mission - vents in the back of the centre console, with associated trunking, vents on the door pillars, also with associated trunking, plus fans and a different control module / screen in the back! Personally, I'd prefer the cooled front seats (only two of us) but when there are four on board, the back row love the cool breeze &/or heated seats. I wish you the best if you go for it! Let us all know how it goes! Cheers, Jon
  9. Hi again Paul, Which dealer in Sussex? Arun Limited is where I bought both of mine, they're pretty genuineE Cheers, Jon
  10. Hi Paul, I just swapped a 2011 XF-S Portfolio for a 2017 XF 3.0 D S! The '11 had heated & cooled front seats, B&O sounds, leather everywhere. Telltales maybe twin oval exhuast tips, chrome grille, velour headlining (plus the above). Loved mine, but love the new one more! Different toys, but faster and much more economical (like that matters!)! Enjoy! Jon
  11. Mine works from indoors, as did my previous XF. Distance about 15 feet, through a window with leaded diamond shaped panes. Jon
  12. Thank you, Simon & Darren, That all makes sense now. Sorry for the slow reply - just back from holiday! Jon
  13. Hi All, Maybe a dumb question, but... I've been used to adding additives (Millers, mainly) to my previous XF. My current XF needs AdBlu, is it OK, necessary, or desirable to continue adding the additives? Cheers, Jon
  14. HIya, I bought a 2011 XF-S about 3 years ago, just swapped it (yesterday) for a 2017 version. There were bills - no doubt about that, (alternator, thermostat, brakes, suspension bushes, in addition to tyres and servicing). But it was a total joy to drive and simply be in - hence going for the same again! Hope you enjoy yours as much, if you go for it! Cheers, Jon
  15. Sorry John, Messed-up the attachment d'oh! Fixed now. Cheers, Jon
  16. Sorry - schoolboy error! XF D 3.0 S...
  17. Just landed! Love it!
  18. Hi All, I'm about to swap my beloved XF for a newer model (2017 XF D 3.0 S) and I've been reading the huge online manual in order to hit the ground running when it arrives. One thing that's worrying me is the so-called "Master PIN" for Valet Mode and a few other features. Any idea where I can find the Master PIN? Thanks in advance, Jon
  19. Hi Dom, Nice looking car! Jon
