I couldn’t agree more peter. It was a long day but I thoroughly enjoyed the drive, the car just soaked up the miles. Now I know why I’ve always wanted a Jaguar.

Set off at 04.30 yesterday, a simple little 808 mile round trip, and home again at 21.10. The car didn’t miss a beat and averaged 33.7 mpg.

Now fully serviced,including gearbox service. Thoroughly health checked and prepared for her little run out from Reading to Glasgow tomorrow. Should be fun.

Just for information my brother and I visited this company yesterday to diagnose a braking problem on his XF sport rake. Very knowledgeable and friendly place. Good evening everyone, a quick question if I may.... I’ve enquired tonight about a 2003XJ6 with a gearbox fault. I asked the dealer what’s wrong with the gearbox and this was the reply. Hi, the car drives but from 2nd to 3rd it’ll hesitate to change We’ve put it on the diagnostics and come back as Incorrect Gear Ratio any suggestions as to what may be the problem please?

Hello Paul and welcome. I was also looking for a 2003-2008 XJ, then I found my 3.0 litre S type three weeks ago. It’s a beautiful car and I’m happy I own it, the three litre petrol engine is silky smooth. Of course, the 4.2 v8 will be another level. Hello Bill, yes I’m discovering just how nice the S type is. I was actually looking for the XJ, but my brother sent me the link to this car and the rest, as they say, is history. So far I’m thoroughly enjoying the car, the 3.0 litre engine is as smooth as silk.
