  1. I've used both of these companies: https://www.kerbed.co.uk/ based in Henfield https://www.wheelworksuk.co.uk/index.php based in Crawley They were both pretty decent and I'll use one of them again as I'm in a similar situation to you in that my wheels are looking rather scabby. The two seem to be on a par with price and turnaround time but I might use Kerbed as they seemed to be more sympathetic to my indecision on colour choice on a previous set of alloys! As I understand it the default choice is always Lepsons (https://www.lepsons.com/) and I believe that they also have a courier service too.
  2. I think some of you might also be on one of the other threads about this subject but I put a bit more info on the other post so here it is on this one... As something of another follow-up to this post it seems there is something of an increase in the number of Indepenent JLR service centres that have Autologic that are working out the fix. I've got to have the timing belt on my XF changed imminently and I'm looking to see where the best place to do it will be. If I take it to my local Jaguar main dealer I know they'll try and rinse me for the official fix when the security module inevitably fails as a consequence of disconnecting the battery! As such I was doing some more digging to find alternative solutions to this and came across a thread on another owners club forum which showed a way of buying a cable with an 'unofficial copy' of the JLR SSD software which would allow you to reset the immobiliser module which appears to temporarily resolve the issue (the only long-term fix is the replacement of two junction boxes at great expense!). https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xf-xfr-x250-44/central-locking-not-working-after-battery-re-connect-192543/page2/ If you look for the post from Viyasan7 from November 2019 he describes the fix and the kit that's needed. This might be a better solution for those of you that aren't near an Autologic-capable Indy. There were some caveats about clone cables and I haven't done this myself so it's very much up to you as to whether you go ahead with it. There was mention of a TSB and indeed there is, but the only one I could find was for the North American market so perhaps that's the reason why the UK/EU/RoW dealers look blankly when we describe the problem. The TSB number is JTB00545NAS1 and here's a link to what it shows: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10159478-9999.pdf It's interesting how the TSB suggests reprogramming the immobiliser module as part of the fix, but only after the two junction boxes have been replaced. It would seem that this step, if done on its own, would be a temporary fix but perhaps JLR aren't prepared to only offer this step. I think it's a !Removed!-take that this issue, which is clearly a systemic failure of a part that should last longer than it has, is being ignored and the high costs being passed to us. Good luck all! Incidentally the fix that Jimbob described is the same as the one in the other forum that I've quoted so it seems that it's becoming more widely known about.

  4. I'll close the loop on this and will also provide another recommendation for E&E in Milton Keynes. I had exactly the same problem other than the fact that my battery died as opposed to being left for some time but the consequences of removing and replacing it were the same. I took my car to my local specialist who had a look and couldn't find any faults showing on SSD and also couldn't find any cause for the problem. I then bit the bullet and took it to my local JLR dealer who also couldn't find a problem and wanted to 'strip the doors' to see if they could get to the bottom of the problem. I told them I'd think about it and then gave E&E a call to see if they could help. I called E&E because I'd seen from Terry's post that they'd sorted his problem. They knew exactly what the problem was and how it should be fixed and said that they'd even had Techs from JLR phoning them to learn how to fix the problem! I live 110 miles from Milton Keynes but just wanted to get the problem fixed so booked it in and drove up this morning. They were finished before my backside had even hit the sofa in the waiting area so I was back on my way home again within about 6 minutes of them starting the job! Essentially the door lock modules need a security re-learn which doesn't show as a fault on SSD as it isn't an error as such but more an absence of data. They used Autologic and it was an easy fix to get it working again; apparently it has some better workarounds compared to the Jaguar SSD software. I'd happily recommend E&E as they knew what the problem was and got it sorted really quickly and at minimal cost. 🙂
  5. I had a problem very similar to this in that my central locking failed after replacing the main car battery. Everything other than the locks were fine and the fuel filler flap locked ok but not the doors or boot. I went to a local specialist and also my main dealer and they didn't have a clue what the problem was, the main dealer wanted to start stripping the doors and locking modules but I decided to do a little more research first! I found a thread on another forum which was pretty much identical to this one and the poster reported that he had his problem fixed by a specialist in Milton Keynes called E & E Services. I called them up and they immediately knew what the issue was and how to fix it. I live a long way from Milton Keynes but just wanted to get it fixed so ended up driving up there this morning even though they offered to talk a local garage through the process on Autologic which apparently has a lot more workarounds than the standard Jag SSD system. The issue was that the door lock modules needed a security relearn and they did this in about 5 minutes! Then it was back on my way for the return leg of 110 miles... If you've got this problem I'd definitely give E&E a call; I couldn't recommend them highly enough. I have no affiliation with them other than being a happy customer whose door locks now work again at minimal expense (particularly given that my local specialist wanted to change all the door locks and the local JLR main dealer wanted to strip the car!).
