Hi Peter, I purchased a battery with a 5 year warranty from Halfords in 2014 and was replaced under warranty in 2017 for the same reason as yours. luckily I kept the receipt from when it was exchanged and had it replaced again last week FOC. It appears that the batteries on the s-type only last about 3 years.

Hi Max I also have an 2000 V6 S-Type and done 60K and had the same problem. I have changed the plugs, and coils, one of the plugs had a crack in the insulator and thought that would be the cause but after a few miles the problem started again and this time found that the rubber ends of the plastic pipes were loose and leaking air so replaced the ends and used cable ties to get a good seal and so far ok.

Good morning, My S-Type has a leak on the aircon and have had it recharged the last two summers, we have a new garage opened in our village that does aircon recharge and recommends using stop leak and says that he has had good results with it. Has anyone had experience with this. many thanks

Hi all, I purchased my S-Type back in 2003 with 30k on the clock and now only 60k I have had very little trouble with the car since purchase other than the usual servicing parts and the aircon loosing its charge. I also have a small van that I use most of the time but really enjoy driving the car whenever I can. I am now retired so that's more often now.
