  1. There are some good stereo systems on offer as standard, I have 825watts and 17 speakers as a standard offering, great sounding system.
  2. They are great cars, I have a petrol variant with a V8 lump. At the 8k price range lots of choice, more toys can mean more expense if they go wrong. As a rule of thumb if these cars have been serviced regularly they are usually fairly reliable, be wary of any crash damage like any car and if going for a diesel, suggest using the dvla service to see annual mileage, they do need to be driven.
  3. I put a rectangle one on mine
  4. Should put an RS on it 🙂
  5. Check the fuses may have blow
  6. Personally I would not waste your money.
  7. Lots of issues due to lockdown. Cars need to be run for a bit before stop/start will work again if battery drained from standing still. I has a 2 hour round trip before it started to work again, although I do usually turn it off anyway 🙂
  8. Same really as any XF in terms of electrics, brakes can take a beating as a heavy car. Engine pretty reliable, look for leaks. Coolant system is complex and prone to go pop as plastic pumps, see if its been changed.
  9. With mileage and how you plan to use, would stay away from diesel, had an xe 163 before xf, did not like low mileage.

    New car

Can always buy a warranty if concerned about things going on. Key is making sure you get options you want, wide variety of toys on these cars.
  11. Took mine to a garage, said battery was fine, just needs a run. I usually turn the stop start off dont like it 😉
  12. I have not heard of many XFs being stolen, and reason why yours in particular? Was it keyless? I do have key pouches and a box both block the keys signal as well as security bar. Fingerscrossed it turns up somewhere with no/limited damage.
  13. If it was minus 6 dont rule out the the temperature, these cars dont seem to like cold!
  14. Common problem when temp outside is zero or below. Got some grease to put on the joints but not done it yet.
  15. Personally, found them cheaper than the german competition for servicing and fixes and thats using main dealers. Running the RS version which is a proper rocket-propelled ship, but actually very comfortable ride considering.
  16. Can be, just make sure it is done properly and you do your homework. Been put off from a couple of sub standards works I have seen.
  17. Torque pro app got loads of great features worth getting if you have a bluetooth obd2
  18. If doing a good run every weekend should be ok with a diesel.
  19. Owned an XE for 4 years with no issues. Had couple of issues with xfr-s with coolant and power steering but expected for a car 7 years old.
  20. Never noticed it reflecting, hope I don't now you have mentioned it! I have problems with the shiny black storage unit between the seats blinding when sun at certain level/direction.
  21. I pay 41 pound a month for a service plan with main dealer. It is pricy and that was with a good discount, but when I have taken my XF (RS) to independent garages, some wont touch certain parts!
  22. AA or RAC offer battery services and have right kit to do it properly, I find halford and some of the staff dont have a scooby 🙂
  23. I find diesels always take an age to get warm in cold weather, had similar problem in an XE I had before, but heated seats and steering wheel helped a lot 🙂
  24. If it is just a dent and you have not damaged the paint, you can get a mobile panel beater out, usually a lot cheaper than body shop who will probably fill and respray. Getting a match for the door or doing it your self to respray etc if not done before will be a challenge I suspect.
  25. In North Leeds, so not that far 😉
