  1. Hi All, May I suggest meeting up at 10am, the cafe/restaurant opens at that time, ideal to get a cuppa, etc We have club parking reserved on the southern car park, there will be signage to help. See you there.
  2. Hi John, Welcome to the club and Jag ownership. Not sure why you're X is fitted with a cassette player, I have a S-Type and have a single disc CD player in the head unit an a 6 disc changer in the boot. Do you know the specification standard of your X? You could always upgrade, whether original Jag spec or aftermarket............... Best regards, Dave
  3. HI Haydnt, Welcome to the club and continued Jag ownership, hope to see some phots posted. Best regards, Dave
  4. Good news Michael, happy motoring
  5. Hi Trevor, The XJ looks amazing, looks like you've got a bit of a stunner there. The cockpit looks tidy as well. :D
  6. The thread used to say, ONE day to go until a meet at the Heritage Motor Centre on 27th May, there is plently of space for more people to attend, even if only for a couple of hours. We have parking reserved for the Club (southern car park - with signage); We are entitled to a concession for access to the museum (they have a new Jaguar display - recently moved here from Coventry); Bring the wife, bring the kids (for that matter bring the cousin no-one really talks about) - the more the merrier; You have the opportunity to meet like minded individuals (and discuss the good and the bad of the J.O.C.); It could be the excuse you need to give the Cat a thorough clean it deserves, if nothing else do it to impress everyone else. Find the link in the Owners Lounge and add you name. Look forward to meeting you, regards, Dave
  7. Hi Chris, Welcome to the forum and potential Jag ownership. I can't believe you posted four days ago and have had no response :( . I've got an S-Type so not much help to you, have you looked at any car sights on the web? Autotrader, Which, even google known X-Type faults - it's surprising what you can find with a bit of google. Good luck with your search. Regards, Dave
  8. Makes you wonder how Shell are still in business, the Gulf I use is £131.9
  9. Hi Neil, The Workshop Manual instructs to remove the rear bumper cover to gain access to the sensors. Regards, Dave
  10. Hi Dave, You may need to heat the tape up to get it all off. Make sure it is thoroughly clean before fixing the new badge. Regards, Dave
  11. Hi John, I haven't a great deal of experience with these engines (I've had mine little over a year), since you're not getting a great deal of response here have you googled the fault or tried "ask a mechanic", just type it in google. You could always prefix it with Jaguar or XJ. Good luck, Dave
  12. Unfortunately next Monday, 27th May.
  13. Hi Trevor, Shame about the lack of a dealer, I hope you bought it for a decent price with a little comfort room to pay for the head gasket. Sounds like a find :) nothing wrong with a close inspection (clean and polish) of the bodywork - you know, to make note of any imperfections. ;) I trust you're going to post a couple of phots when you're done? You could always come and show it off at the Heritage Centre Bank Holiday Monday....? Best regards, Dave
  14. Hi Trevor, Welcome back to the forum and a return to Jag ownership. Are you buying the XJ from a dealership? You could always try and convince them to change it for you........ Best regards, Dave
  15. Hi Michael, Glad to hear that you're still covered by warranty especially where you've made a number of attempts to resolve the problem. I have to smile as we're almost in summer and still need to use the heater :D Look forward to your report of it being fixed. Best regards, Dave
  16. Looks like the meet is favouring the S-Type :D Out of the 10 names above, the car breakdown is as follows: 7 S-Types1 X-Type1 XK1 XF
  17. Hi Steve, you are now :) The list reads: Dave (Mr D) Steve (Administrator) Wayne (Boom) Dell Brian (Brian 2012) John (Old Bear) Eric Geoff (isis) Stewart (Olde English) Steve (pablojag1)
  18. Hi Stewart, Glad to hear that you can make it, look forward to meeting up. The Heritage Centre opens at 10am, so would suggest that as a meet time, we can at least take advantage of the cafeteria/restaurant :D I've had confirmation from the Centre, we have reserved parking on the Southern Lawn - there will be signage to show us the way. I'll post a plan of the Centre so it's clear to all. Best regards, Dave
  19. Hi John, I take it you've checked the obvious - oil levels, oil consistency? Regards, Dave
