  1. HI Steve/Simon, As mentioned before, I'm coming down to Poole/Ringwood 12th/13th/14th, I'm travelling incognito (wife's MPV) - interested in a pint one evening? Best regards, Dave
  2. Hi Rich, You should be able to source the Ambient Air Sensor from a Dealer or ebay, alternatively you could try SNG Barrett - google the name and you'll find their website. The sensor can be found under the nearside front bumper, it looks the same as the one fitted to my S-Type. If you have a look at the following link - it will take you to a different forum but gives you the complete "How To" http://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x-type-14/how-ambient-air-temp-sensor-faq-33261/ Best regards, Dave
  3. Hi Stan, this was taken from the Racing Green website, their summary of the upgrade in 2004/2005 Ian Callum (Head of design 2004) was called upon to give the S-TYPE a mid-life refresh. And very effective it was too.At the rear of the car a new bumper arrangement combined with a redesigned bootlid and new rear lights gave a fresher look, while the front end was similarly revitalised courtesy of a reprofiled bonnet – now in aluminium – plus a lower and more upright grille and updated bumper. New alloy wheels and instrument pack, with the option for the first time of an aluminium fascia, completed the skin-deep styling changes – but there was one more to come in the powertrain department, the 2.7-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel engine also being introduced in 2004. The diesel was smooth, torquey and refined, and, as a result, it immediately attracted customers to the S-TYPE who had previously avoided it on the basis of running costs. Regards, Dave
  4. Hi Phil, I've no problem with you being a member of the forum, welcome. What Jag did you have to sell? Best regards, Dave
  5. Outstanding Paul, glad you found the XK of your dreams. Sounds like you've got a good one :D I've always liked the XK, when I came home reporting the finding of my S-Type to management, I said I'd been to test drive a Jag. The wife asked if it was an XK, obviously approval for future purchase ;) Saw a lovely model at Racing Green Jaguar, a XK8 Arden Convertible - under £14k - wonder if she'd accept me having two Jags? Best regards, Dave
  6. Mine needs a good clean, the amount of crud on the car (salt/mud/spray/etc) it looks a bit pitiful at the mo
  7. MMMMMMMMMMM B) B) B)
  8. Hi Terry, A belated welcome to the forum, Hope the X is running well and you've still got a great big smile on your face when you drive it :D Best regards, Dave
  9. Hi Paul, See that you didn't get a whole lot of assistance from the club :o :o . I've been on other forums with a different make of car and the members were a lot more forthcoming with mechanical help and advice compared to the JOC - maybe there is a different mindset or complexity (?) when it comes to Jaguars? Perhaps most of our members are reluctant to undertake servicing and minor repairs - must admit I'd be happy to strip down a set of brake calipers - it's the putting back together and hoping they work correctly that worries me :D How did you get on? Did you buy the XK? Best regards, Dave
  10. You know that will be the longest two weeks ;)
  11. Hi Phil, Welcome to the forum and Jag ownership, you've had your XF a little more than a month - hope you still have big smiles when you drive :D :D :D :D :D Best regards, Dave
  12. Some lovely cars there Steve, especially like the Lister - but the £27k tag is a little rich?
  13. Hi David, Meguirs do a Headlight Restoration Kit which comes with a bottle of PlastX, a buff pad and micro fibre towel. I guess the PlastX has the same effect as either the T-Cut or Brasso as recommended by Steve and Rick, but the buff pad fits in to a standard power drill so could take a lot of the elbow grease out of the job. The trick it to carefully mask off the paint work and use even pressure across the whole of the lens. The micro-fibre to polish once the job is done. There are some good videos on youtube showing the Meguirs in action. You can buy the kit from Halfords or any decent motor-factors. Whichever way you go, you should post some before and after phots :) Best regards, Dave
  14. Hi Richard, Sounds like you've had a lucky find with Chris - you should post his details/phone/email in a thread called Recommended Independent Garages, I think it's in the Owners Lounge. Best regards, Dave
  15. HI Matt, Welcome to the forum and Jag ownership. I second Steve's sentiment - most jealous You'll have to post a load of phots to make us more jealous..... :D Best regards, Dave
  16. Hi John, Looking at trying to arrange a meet at the Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon on the 27th May, are you interested? There's a thread in the Jaguars Owners Lounge - depending on the level of interest will depend on what we try to arrange with the Heritage Centre. Best regards, Dave
  17. Hi Dell, Have posed the suggestion of a meet at the Heritage Motor Centre 27th May, would be good to get together - what do you think? Regards, Dave
  18. Me too, normally AG shampoo, either Aquawax (if I'm pressed for time) but normally AG super resin polish followed by AG Extra Gloss Protection. This year I'm going to focus on Collinite wax and a polisher (hopefully get a deeper shine quicker) Twice a year I use Claying Bar to get rid of tar and deposits which normal cleaning often doesn't lift.
  19. Haven't had a meet for a while, think the Heritage Motor Centre could be a good venue to get some like minded individuals together. Subject to confirmation suggest the Spring Bank Holiday i.e. 27th May. Anyone who's interested, list your names and we'll get it sorted :) Mr D Steve

Hi Wayne, I'll throw this over into the main forum and see if there is wider regional interest. Probably aim for one of the May Bank Holidays?
  21. Hi Wayne, What kit did you use? Autoglym / Meguirs?? Or maybe bubblebath ;) Regards, Dave
  22. Hi Geoff, Any chance of re-posting it? Regards, Dave

How about a meet at the Heritage Motor Centre at Gaydon? I think last year when there was a drawdown in the Jaguar Heritage Centre, they moved a number of Jags to Gaydon.
