  1. Hi Mike, the 2 fuses to check are F11 10A and F25 10A, both in the primary junction fuse box. If they are good then check for 12v at the light, one side should be live as the ground is done through the front electronic module. If you don’t have 12v on one side of the light then you may have a problem within the loom.
  2. Looks very nice Christopher, a credit to you.😎
  3. As I recall, my brand new one from a Jaguar dealer was £108 + vat, as I said, always worth checking your local dealer first.😉
  4. Same as mine so no problems. Worth checking with your local dealer for a price also unless the one you have seen is ridiculously cheap.😉
  5. Jaguar forums are littered with people whose cars have had battery problems that seem completely unrelated. Google is your friend, search for a Jaguar independent Specialist in your area and get the car to them.
  6. I assume you mean the lights on the outside Mandy, either way, yes they are the same.
  7. I agree with Peter, getting the codes read will help immensely. Having read the scenario I would also check the output from the alternator. The battery and associated cables should also be checked.
  8. Good news Bob, making progress. Look forward to the all clear in due course.😉
  9. https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/2020/10/paypal-to-introduce-p12-yr-fee-for--inactive--accounts---act-now/?utm_source=MSE_Newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_term=13-Oct-20-50642849-4030&utm_campaign=nt-oneliners-one&utm_content=1 Just came across this and thought other members should be made aware.
  10. Hi Bob, Those earth points may look ok from the outside after being cleaned but they rust from the inside out. Maybe worth changing them for new bolts. Also make sure the battery is fully charged.
  11. Have a look here Jan. https://www.sngbarratt.com/English/#/UK/parts/f50b91db-1bcc-4ea7-aed9-f89ed7a6051c?gt=Splined Hub Right Hand Front for Jaguar Mk II %2F Mk 2 2.4 & 240=
  12. The brake pedal switch is at the top of the brake pedal. This switch has multiple functions, brake lights, gear shift interlock, cruise cancel.
  13. Have a look here, http://www.jagrepair.com/JaguarXJ6XJ8ElectricalOBDIIcodes.htm
  14. Fuse F32 20A in the primary junction box.
  15. Hope it stays off for you Brian and thanks for the update.
  16. Try looking under the dash roughly where your right knee would be.
  17. As with many spurious problems such as this the first thing to do is charge the battery overnight and then see if it happens again.
  18. If you do have a leak then a smoke test will show it up. Any competent mechanic should be able to carry it out for you. Reading the codes may point you in the right direction also.
  19. If Catherine’s info is correct, it is a 98MY XK in which case it will be a key.😉
  20. Welcome to the forum Clive. Take the printed circuit board out of the remote and clean the contact areas with the rubber on the end of a pencil. As you’ve already replaced everything else, that’s the only other thing I can think of.
  21. Hi Fiona, very sorry for your loss. Personally I wouldn’t go near a Jaguar dealer. A few things to consider, tyres, 4 years in one spot equals flat spots - may need four new ones. fuel, whatever was in the tank will probably have gone off and will need flushing and a new filter. battery, dead as a dodo - will need a new one. Look for a recommended Jaguar Specialist in your area and you won’t get ripped off.
  22. You may get more info from this forum, https://www.jaginfo.org/login/
  23. Rod, if you have a smart charger/maintainer such as the CTEK, then yes you can leave it on the car. Simply hook it up and forget about it. Not only will it bring the battery up to full charge, it will then maintain it.
  24. Counting the flashes will equate to a code eg. 2 flashes, a short pause and 2 flashes, long pause and then repeated will give a airbag code of 2-2. Once you have the code we can then get you in a particular area to look for the problem. Most likely problem, from your description, would be the clockspring within the steering wheel.
  25. Have a read of this thread Brian, might shed some light on your problem. https://www.jaguarforum.com/showthread.php?t=42717
