  1. 2 supplies to check first are to the air suspension module. Fuse F12 10A in the rear distribution fuse box and the 20A fuse off the transit isolation relay. The air suspension relay R1 takes an output from the module to switch on. The output circuit feeds fuse F6 40A in the front power distribution fuse box. This thread may be helpful with the P1638 code. https://www.jaguarforum.com/showthread.php?t=94319
  2. They could be historical. As you have them recorded here, delete them and see if they reappear.
  3. If you can’t replicate the fault and it doesn’t happen for you then what is your wife doing that is different? Check the easy stuff first.
  4. Perfectly normal John. You will also find that if you play the radio without the engine running it will shutdown after 10min. These cars are power hungry and they don’t like low voltages.
  5. What voltage do you have at the battery terminals with the engine running?
  6. From the forums I’m a member of and the many people I know with x types, not once have I seen it said, the seats are uncomfortable. If you can find one close by, go for a test drive.🙂
  7. Could also be a slightly worn brake pedal switch.
  8. He is contactable through jaguarforum.com as “bertieboy9”. I’m not on the Facebook either.😊
  9. Might be worth contacting Mark Burton in Leeds, you’ll find him on the Facebook. He breaks x types.
  10. Should be close to the reservoir or under it. Just follow the pipes.
  11. Dunlops used to be my tyre of choice, never had a problem with them. I have since switched to Michelin and found them to be far superior compared to the Dunlops.😁
  12. Well Euan, serious investigation is required. At the front of the engine you could be looking at the thermostat tower and water pump or the hoses to the radiator, if you’re lucky. Thermostat tower and water pump are known to fail. The worst will be the valley pipes though they don’t normally leak from the front. Find yourself a reputable Jaguar Indy and get it pressure tested, this will be the cheapest way of identifying the fault.
  13. I’ve only managed to find the 4.2L and the Silverstone. I’m guessing from the part number that yours had “Supercharged” on it, in which case it may be the holy grail of badges. Here is the Silverstone version. https://www.ebay.co.uk/p/1015894819
  14. You need to hook it up to code reader and find out exactly what is activating the alarm. Surprised your Indy didn’t advise that in the first place.
  15. Or perhaps it lights up when a CD is inserted.
  16. Latest info I have is that it may be a IR receiver for a remote control to do with the rear entertainment pack.
  17. You may also find one on the overhead console.😀
  18. If glows orange and only comes on with the headlights then it’s a courtesy light and is as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike.😁
  19. No bother Colin, glad to help.🙂
  20. A few available here though pricey. https://www.ebay.com/b/Car-Remote-Entry-System-Kits-for-2011-Jaguar-XJ/184651/bn_94425919 also here, https://www.remotesandkeys.com/product/smart-key-remote-2011-2014-jaguar-xj
  21. Is it this type? https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/203060744849?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=710-134428-41853-0&mkcid=2&itemid=203060744849&targetid=938486033460&device=t&mktype=pla&googleloc=1007258&poi=&campaignid=10195652396&mkgroupid=107296306052&rlsatarget=pla-938486033460&abcId=1145987&merchantid=9855334&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIrPu3mIyv6wIVFc13Ch3kPgSKEAQYASABEgL8fvD_BwE
  22. There is normally quite a few for sale on the bay of E.
  23. Do you have auto lights on the car? If not then it could be the light switch itself at fault. Cheap on eBay and a 10 minute job to change.
  24. If you generally switch it off then why not disable it altogether and forget about it. Just remove the plug from the module in the right hand side of the boot behind the trim.
  25. No problem in doing that Lou though you can just as easily attach both to the battery.
