  1. If it was the speaker then the cable would go direct to the module and the speaker under the parcel shelf. If you’re saying the cable goes behind the bumper then there is some jiggerypokery going on.
  2. Looks like a speaker. Where does the wire go to?
  3. 1. Turn ignition key to position one. 2. Release the retaining tang. (This is a silver pin on the side of the assembly that needs to be pushed in.) 3. Remove the ignition switch lock cylinder. This photo may help: /d3/attachments/18/18382-924171698dda45a46076d3b065ad8c58.jpg It is a good idea to add your S-type details to your group signature including the partial vin number. This way we all know what model and year yiu are asking about. See my signature below for an example. Attachments 162.6 KBViews: 76
  4. That’ll do it, far too low. Fully charged should read 12.8v.
  5. The first thing to do is fully charge the battery and then see what happens. After that you’ll need to have the codes read to see what the car is saying is wrong.
  6. Yes you can Rob. As you have no BMS fitted to your car you can attach direct to the battery though it is best practice to connect the negative of the charger to a suitable ground point.
  7. Incorrect information. Wrt to the brakes, I haven't come across 5.0 XKs with the 5.0 XKR brakes as standard. The sizes are noticably different 355mm to 380 mm at the front. I think the rear is an even bigger difference. It is possible that: Performance = 355 mm (taken from the 4.2 XKR) Super Performance = 380 mm (standard on almost all 5.0 R models without carbon brakes) Just measure them and it should be fairly clear what you have/need to replace with. Non of which are Brembos.
  8. Welcome Carl. This thread may be worth a read. https://www.jaguarforum.com/threads/2015-xk-question-about-playing-bluetooth-music.138396/unread
  9. Get hold of an aircon bomb and try that. If that doesn’t cure it then further investigation is required.
  10. Hi, try sending an email to http://www.davidmarksgarages.co.uk they are in Nottingham, not far from Leicester. They may be able to help you out.
  11. It’s all detailed in the manual. Remove the cup holders and underneath you should find a red tag. The manual will tell you what to do.
  12. Yes it will fit. Sit in the drivers seat, where your right knee is, look under there, that’s where the OBD port is.
  13. Hi Chris and welcome. As the engine has been stood for so long, remove the plugs and put a teaspoon of oil down each. Wait 5 minutes and then spin then engine on the starter for 5 - 10 seconds. Replace the plugs and retest the compression, if still the same then you start dismantling.
  14. Any Jaguar independent specialist should be able to read the codes for you. A icarsoft i930 code reader would also be useful to you. What appears to be the problem?
  15. Welcome to the forum. Here’s one option, https://www.jagdroid.org Enjoy.😊
  16. Fixed 2 things for the price of one, bonus.🤙
  17. Yes it can be but do make sure the negative of the charger goes to an earth point and not the battery. The procedure should be in your manual.
  18. Welcome to the forum. I would start by fully charging the battery despite it starting the car especially seeing the first and third pictures. Once charged, try again.
  19. Excellent news and thanks for the update.🤙
  20. Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately, the only way to know what’s going on is to remove the door card and check the movement of the linkages. Enjoy.😊
  21. Welcome to the forum, enjoy.😊
  22. Welcome to the forum, Ron. This electrical manual may help you identify the circuits you’re having trouble with. http://www.jagrepair.com/images/Electrical/Elect-Tech All2/90 Sedan Electrical.pdf
  23. Yes you can, they are designed that way. If they haven’t been moved for some time then spray some lubricant into the swivel point and just keep wiggling them until they are in the park position
  24. Welcome to the forum, Mick. Try this, https://www.jaguarforum.com/threads/free-xk8-workshop-manuals-and-more.102184/unread
