  1. Yes, they’re trying to rip you off head gasket problems don’t manifest themselves with oil on top of the engine
  2. Plug in a fault code reader and see what you get You probably have a problem with your parking aids
  3. Erm… mr lairdscooby just beat me to it with a much better reply
  4. The last person to have the wheel off probably just gunned the wheel nut on and over-tightened it. The nuts are supposed to be torqued up - don’t know the torque. original jag nuts have an alloy covering which looks pretty to start with, but rust eventually develops beneath and swells the nut. I swapped mine for toyota solids

Security issue Have you got a spare key? Try that one

    Fuel filter?
  7. The receivers for the tpms sensors are mounted, front and rear, on the lower part of the bumper. You have to partially remove a bit of the arch liner to see them They look like small tennis bats, clipped in, lying on their side Check if they’re all mounted correctly Otherwise, it’s failing battery(s) in the tpms sensors
  8. You need to get the codes read Otherwise it’s just guesswork
  9. Shop around… That’s robbery Or do it yourself, it’s easy and very considerably cheaper
  10. Passive or non passive entry? Any fault codes? State of charge of your car battery(s)?
  11. Same as mine… I’ve read of many egr faults and many potential repairs, i.e. removing and cleaning off/out the sooty tar that forms also running a cleaner through in the fuel (snake oil in my opinion). Few are successful and subsequently new egr’s are bought You can get an egr delete, but this is software and I’ve no idea of the cost Hopefully, the fault was indeed a one off and doesn’t reappear As for the code reader thing? Weird, I don’t have a scooby - I would try a different code reader first…
  12. Particular engine?
  13. Just do it for peace of mind
  14. The stop start battery is the main (big) battery Do both of them separately

Yes it looks like a duff solenoid on the turbo or an air leak on the air intake
  16. This could be one of the weird problems relating to water ingress of the central junction box Just a guess though….
  17. I’d go for either a duff button or the wiring at the lock
  18. Does it lock/ unlock with the fob?
  19. Hmm… Not really the mileage for changing the oil. Obviously, it wouldn’t do any harm. If you do get it changed, remember to insist on the proper lifeguard oil and zf filter (which is incorporated in the pan), these two are critical for proper operation I take it this is just at start up, when the oil would be cold? Is there a leak, low on oil? This isn’t a quirk, it shouldn’t be doing as you say
  20. When was the oil and filter in the gearbox changed?
  21. Your car security settings have been scrambled You’ll have to get the module reprogrammed Dealer - will want to change the module and reprogram - megabucks indy - will reprogram only and be a lot cheaper yourself - using sdd, free
  22. Not if it’s been serviced regularly

You should take it back to the garage you bought it from and get them to fix it for free It’s your rights after all, sale of goods act and all that…
  24. I think you’ve got unbolt the seat at the front and tilt it back, then you can get to it check for dampness in the area
  25. Did the battery light flash when trying to operate the windows?
