    With the brakes locked up try loosening the master cylinder from the vacuum unit, if that releases the brakes you will need a new vacuum unit, It appears to be a common fault caused when bleeding the system and pushing the pedal fully to the floor (use a wooden block or similar to prevent excess pedal travel)

    The pedestrian system fault is probably (although be thoroughly checked) the 2 accident sensors bolted to the front body cross member approx £130 each plus fitting the warning light is also prone with low battery charge

    Although in 2006 adaptive headlights were optional i think it's fair to assume on this occasion the presence of an adaptive headlight fault would only be present if the op's car has that option fitted The op should scan/get the vehicle scanned for fault codes and take it from there

    You need to take the car to someone that can properly investigate the issue as forum diagnostics are guesswork/pointers only It could be a whole host of things however you haven't even bothered to introduce yourself or any details about the vehicle

    I'm aware of the problem duckbill involving iirc 06/07 and 09 xk however i have never came across the problem involving the 350 model

    Made to measure covers from specialised covers. Co.uk (Yorkshire) not a one size fits all / cheap but a quality cover

    Normal service has resumed however I can't be sure what the problem was as apart from taking the door panel off and think that one of the plugs into the module wasn't fully inserted, put it on the scanner and scrubbed a couple of fault codes thanks again to all members for their input on this thread

    Cheers for that Jim Will look at pulling the passenger door module for the part number for a replacement, I can't find a how to but hopefully I won't have to remove the door panel as the information I have found suggests that it is positioned behind the door speaker

    I may be wrong but I think the car was set up that when the passenger door was opened the mirrors unfolded , I understand where you are coming from but after 10 years ownership this has only recently been brought to my attention after a battery disconnect and me thinking I might have an incoming gremlin On the flip side if what I think was happening isn't within the normal format of the in car software it may have highlighted a gremlin that i wasn't aware of

    When the car is opened just from the passenger door (keyless) the mirrors remain folded is this correct? they fold to the driving position as they should using the drivers side

    Personally russ the xk 150 has such limited use I suggest you get a second car capable of transporting more than 1 passenger . If you're partner disagrees with buying another car i suggest you ask her to travel in the back once and that will definitely change her mind what you identify as a rear seat is nothing more than a low level parcel shelf 🤣
