Hello All,
I had a similar experience the first time I changed the belt, Jag in bits, a mate running me back to the Motor Factor, armed with the original and the incorrect one supplied, only for them to admit defeat and give me my money back.
I did manage to get one eventually the first time round, but this time (after the tensioner incident), the same supplier drew a blank.
I called the local Jaguar dealer and explained the problem - they ordered the belt that their system says is fitted to my car.
I visited Hatfields Jaguar to collect the new belt this afternoon. . Twice the price of course, but sure enough, its the correct longer one. Its approx 2.75m long
The part number on the invoice for the correct belt - AJ8 4136 - if you reference this back online it points to a 6PK2275 belt, (2.27m long) which is too short for the car.
So, it seems that this is where the error lies.
Cheers,
Gareth.
