  1. Get your self a CTEK MS 7, battery charger re-conditioner and use it regularly. I use mine on my S-type (which are also renown for battery drain) at least once in a fortnight and for at least 24 hours each time. This piece of equipment is used by many people on the forum. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  2. One would think that Jaguar themselves would have some idea how to tame the beast they hatched. Is there not a question of warranty/consumer rights here. Best Wishes , John
  3. Dave Many thanks Regards, John
  4. Dave If you find the correct window film I would appreciate knowledge of where you obtain it as it sounds like a very good idea. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  5. Happy Christmas Dan and to all Club/Forum Members. Cheers, John
  6. I believe the job is not worth doing unless you actually finish with the UV resistant lacquer . Thanks and Regards, John
  7. Nice looking car. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  8. Ashar You really do need to do a diagnostic reading and get the fault codes to be certain of what you are dealing with. Any other way you will searching in the dark and could end up chasing the fault and costing lots of wasted £££££££`s. ABS fault can also often to associated with wheel speed sensor/s. That again should show on a diagnostic check. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  9. Michael You will be far better of financially (and probably from customer service point of view) by finding yourself an Independent Jaguar Specialist. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  10. I am of the opinion/belief that the isolator should be fitted to the terminal that provides the body earth, which with what you quote would be the positive . Best Wishes and Regards, John
  11. Anthony Welcome to the wonderful and sometimes frustrating world of Jaguar ownership and maintenance. They are somewhat renowned for battery discharge. I personally (as many others on this forum have) invested in a CTEK MS 07 battery charger and restorer. I use it very regularly , at least once per month and always for at least 24 hours. It keeps the battery well maintained and greatly reduced the number of fault codes and starting/running problems that can arise from a lower charged battery. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  12. Many thanks Joe. Regards, John
  13. S-Types very prone to battery discharge (I know from experience) and the information about coil packs as well. Invest in a CTEX charger/restorer and use it very regularly. It will help in keeping a good battery in great condition. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  14. Many thanks, Regards, John
  15. Thanks Mike. I was actually looking for a named kit supplier. I intend doing it with a slow drill and will also require the UV proof coating to apply after I have done the job. I have done it a few times before and was actually wondering if anyone had any experience of a supplier, other than the one I have used before. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  16. I have had plenty of experience of the NEC with several manufacturers I have had over the years. I know only too well how much the place is a rip off for anything you want to purchase. It would never cross my mind to go there now these days, even with how near to me it is. Best Wishes, John
  17. Has anyone any recommendations/favourites or "no go" in respect of which kit to buy to restore plastic lenses on Headlamps ? Many thanks and Best Wishes, John.

  19. Peter There are many Jaguar specialist around that are thought well of and quite often equally as good as Jaguar Dealers. Their advantage is that they are usually considerably cheaper to deal with than Jaguar Dealers. You could contact one or more and ask them to quote for re-building your engine or ask their advice on what to do. I do not personally know of one in Dorset, but no doubt there is one somewhere. I do know of one in Somerset that is always well recommended. Swallows Jaguar. Best Wishes and Regards, John
