  1. Stephen The 2012 was the last update Jaguar produced for S-Type. May be there are some non genuine items around. Regards, John
  2. Roger Are we going to see a report or update about this track day. Always good to hear about the events afterwards. Regards, John
  3. Julie Hope you had a good day and a large number of members turned up./ Best Wishes and Regards, John
  4. Andrew Good luck with selling your Dad`s Jaguar. I have a similar story (except I am the Dad (73) ), in this case. Sounds a familiar story with what were once deemed extremely desirable (now Classic) becoming Jaguars. The problem with the story is that it will probably want someone with deep pockets or a younger person who has the energy, motivation and skill to bring the car back to life. Good Luck and Best Wishes, John
  5. £40 sounds a lot of money. However, you are talking of Jaguar, who are never cheap with anything. I normally use only genuine parts, but for a service record I would go for a cheaper method. Like the downloadable freebie. Regards, John
  6. Personally I would be inclined to have a new radiator, first cost usually being the least cost. Especially if the repair lets go at some stage and you lose all of the water. Regards and Best Wishes, John
  7. Hi all, just wanted to get the job done this time. I say that as I have seen there is an alloy gearbox pan cover. This costs about £125.00 and the filter kit is £56 when you do an oil change. Are they any good? Do they fit? Has anyone used one? What would your opinion be? Despite what Jaguar might advise, I had mine done at 60,000 miles (about 7,000 miles ago). I would recommend that you use genuine Jaguar Parts. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  8. There are kits on Ebay and there are also people who will supply and fit new linings . I would agree that for a professional looking job it is not a self fix item, unless you are skilled in that art. Best Wishes and Regards, John

  10. Is it a full Jaguar service history or just stamps in a service record from anywhere/everywhere. If Jaguar Service History you could probably acquire a full recorded history from the dealer network. Good Luck and Best Wishes, John
  11. Conrad Welcome to the Forum and the Jaguar experience. Regards, John
  12. Jaguar Mk 8 was a very attractive car. Regards, John
  13. Good advice to keep well clear of Halfords for servicing . Regards, John
  14. Welcome Jeremy Best Wishes, John
  15. I agree in theory that parts not need should not be charged for. Having said that I think it might be a rather delicate negotiation to achieve a full refund of the parts costs. Good Luck and Best Wishes, Regards, John
  16. Not certain that, even the best maintained S-Types, are actually rising in price. Regards, John
