  1. If you purchase Denso disc they should be OK as they were original supply. Cheers, John
  2. Matt Welcome to the forum/club. As for SatNav discs, there are always quite a few on the internet advertised for sale and the likes of Ebay often has many listed for sale. Not certain how up to date you want the disc to be but I do believe the most up to date discs that were produced for Jaguar is 2012. I could well be wrong, but someone else will be certain to have greater knowledge on this subject and will reply in due course. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  3. Tanveer This is back to "The Golden Oldie" .......... is supermarket petrol any different to major brands E.G. BP, Shell and "Other brands that are readily available" It is a very motive subject and probably revolves around does the "Supermarket Brands" have the same additives as claimed by the "Brands". I doubt the truth of this will ever be disclosed by either side in the competitive market of petrol/fuels. The Brands always seem to advertise their additive values of their petrol`s, but I personally do not recall seeing any supermarket fuels having their additives listed or promoted. However, I do recall a conversation I once had with a Petrol delivery driver in a fuel station, on this subject of Brands v Supermarket. It was actually in a BP Petrol Station and that said drivers reply was, "I have never understood what all of the fuss is about. All of the fuels, no matter where they end up, all come from the same tanks at the refineries where we load the fuel." Personally I found this statement a little hard to accept .............. but who knows. I suspect that there may be a person or persons on this forum that is in possession or actual knowledge of the differences (if any) on the fuels as supplied by "Brands" and as supplied by "Supermarkets". Like you I would really like to have a definitive answer on this subject. Meanwhile I will stick with "Branded Fuels" , rightly or wrongly . Best Wishes and Regards, John
  4. also sometimes mysterious Cheers, John

  7. My S-Type works at 20 yds from behind the car and 10 yds from in front of the car. ???????????????? Regards, John
  8. Probably not the most convenient of action, to drive without key present and then not be able to start if the car were stopped and turned off. Todays so called technical progress does at time leave me totally cold and confused. There again I am 72 years of age, so maybe not surprising. 😑 Regards, John
  9. Cheers Joe, It seems Premium Fuel and no additives is the answer. In my case I just stay as I have been doing. Thanks and Best Wishes, John
  10. Currently in the local area that I frequent the difference between Shell/BP etc and supermarket is about 2p per litre, so not massive savings on one over the other. Best Wishes , John
  11. Dave Thanks for the link. I have had a look at it and being the sceptical oldie that I am, plus I am not well (if at all ) versed in electronics, I am suspicious of what I would get for £29 . Certainly not going to start ripping the facia out of my car as I would not know where to start. Am OK with mechanical issues but electric and electronic matters have always left me struggling. I think I shall be investing in a stand alone SatNav of Garmin or TomTom, which hopefully will only be a plug in and use situation. I have actually seen that if purchased from Halfords they will fit the SatNav for the buyer and give a lesson on how to use it. I think it might be advantageous as well as it can always be used in another/different vehicle as well. Many thanks for your time and advice, Best Wishes , John
  12. Dave My S-Type is a Facelift model. I have no idea what a double-DIN stereo actual is. Will have to look into it and see if I can find anything. Thanks and Regards, John
