  1. Andrew You as you say, "completely understand Jaguar not having a spare wheel." I unfortunately do not agree with not carrying a spare wheel and believe it to be an essential item. My opinion is plainly of little value and is probably due to be being from the dinosaur age. I am 72 years young, thoroughly enjoy my S-Type Sport, and would never do any journey without a spare wheel. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  2. Joe Many thanks. I will obtain a new sensor and swop it over, hopefully to sort the readings back to normal ????? Thanks and Best Wishes, John
  3. Probably a certain Classic of the future. There were limited numbers built on certain models of the S-Type. John
  4. A general search on the internet for the actual car and model you are looking for will usually produce most that are advertised anywhere. I have just briefly looked and there are well over a dozen locations listings advertising Jaguar XK 4.2 coupe for sale. Good Luck in finding what you want, Regards, John
  5. Andy Welcome to the experience of Jaguar ownership. Good Luck, Best Wishes and Regards, John
  6. Avalon was actually asking, which one of two, he should buy. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  7. Joe Thanks, I am aware of where the above sensors are but am wondering about external temperatures sensors. Do they both get their reading from the sensor underneath the car at the front. I.E. Does the frost light on the dash and the external temperature on the centre console, both get their reading from the sensor at the the front underside of the car. (Facelift model). My concern is that just lately in these hot weather temperatures, the external reading on the centre console has appeared to be extremely low considering what we all know as having had very high external temperatures. It has only been showing around 15 - 17 degrees C. Many thanks and Regards, John
  8. I believe the external temperature reading sensor is not working on my S-type. Think it is located under the very front of the car under a cover/panel. The external temperature shows in two places on the car info system, as far as I am aware. One on the clock binnacle, which shows as a yellow snowflake type yellow light when the external temperature fall to 5 degrees C, the other on the central facial showing external temperature amongst settings for the Air Conditioning etc. At this location it shows external ambient temperature in C. Can anyone confirm or otherwise that both of these temperature readings are made by the same sensor located at the front underside of the car . Many thanks and Regards, John.
  9. Welcome to the club/forum. Photos are always appreciated. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  10. Simon You ask advice etc. I will not sit on the fence. My personal opinion is, after having it checked out for any major problems, and it seems OK, go for the lower mileage car. It has to be said though, "It is your choice/decision at the end of the day", no matter what anyone else has to say. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  11. Rob Be careful of warranties/guarantees as they often are not very comprehensive and quite regularly do not cover ALL possible problems. Also very often they have a £`s limit on any claims. Often there are very many exceptions listed that will not be covered. Having said that, it could be said that anything that is thrown into the deal without charge, could well be better than nothing at all. Good luck, Best Wishes and Regards, John
  12. Rob I feel your best bet to acquire a non bias view of the S-Type is to plough your way through the section of this Forum that is dedicated to the S-Type models. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  13. Ray Do not be so certain immediately that the battery is not low. S-Types in particular are well known for sapping battery power. That fact accounts for why so many people on this forum swear by CTEK MS 7 or MS 10 as a regular use product for keeping battery well charged and reconditioned. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  14. Gaz Welcome to the club/forum. I take it you have searched the likes of Ebay and other well known places. Another often good source for new parts is SNG Barratt . https://www.sngbarratt.com/English/#/uk/home Best Wishes and Regards, John
  15. Andy Welcome to the Club/Forum and to the world of Jaguar . Best Wishes and Regards, John
  16. Daniel Do not forget your "two shredded" wheat before you start pushing. Best Wishes and Regards, John
