  1. Currently in the local area that I frequent the difference between Shell/BP etc and supermarket is about 2p per litre, so not massive savings on one over the other. Best Wishes , John
  2. Dave Thanks for the link. I have had a look at it and being the sceptical oldie that I am, plus I am not well (if at all ) versed in electronics, I am suspicious of what I would get for £29 . Certainly not going to start ripping the facia out of my car as I would not know where to start. Am OK with mechanical issues but electric and electronic matters have always left me struggling. I think I shall be investing in a stand alone SatNav of Garmin or TomTom, which hopefully will only be a plug in and use situation. I have actually seen that if purchased from Halfords they will fit the SatNav for the buyer and give a lesson on how to use it. I think it might be advantageous as well as it can always be used in another/different vehicle as well. Many thanks for your time and advice, Best Wishes , John
  3. Dave My S-Type is a Facelift model. I have no idea what a double-DIN stereo actual is. Will have to look into it and see if I can find anything. Thanks and Regards, John
  4. Trevor Thanks very much for the advice. It seems if I carry on doing what I have always done then I shall be doing the best I can. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  5. Dave Thanks for the advice. I will have to get a stand alone as I do not like the out dated S-Type SatNav and also I would like something larger than the screen on my i Phone. Thanks and Regards, John
  6. Good to hear you appear to be satisfied. Cheers, John
  7. Anyone ???
  8. 2005 S-Type Facelift 2.5 V6 Auto. Have only ever used what is now E10 petrol in my car, dependent upon the fuel providing any additives that may be required. The car has 67,000 miles and is serviced annually (usually around 4,000 miles annual). No known faults, but have recently wondered if I should use a fuel additive of some description ? Any advice and / or recommendations of products would be much appreciated. Many thanks and Regards, John
  9. Am not happy with the old SatNav in my S-Type and contemplating buying a separate SatNav to use in the car. Seems to me that best regarded are Garmin or Tom Tom manufactured models. Would appreciate any other purchase advise including which of Garmin or TomTom would be regarded as best choice. Many thanks and Regards, John
  10. Link is not connecting. Cheers, John

  14. You are welcome. The S-Type can be challenging, especially in respect of suffering when battery charge gets low. You can end up with numerous rogue messages/codes etc. Best answer is to invest in a CTEX MS 7 or 10 battery charger / re-conditioner and use it on the car at least (if not more) than once per month for at least 24 hours. They will adequately control Parasitic Drain which Jaguars and in particular S-Type seems prone to. I use one regularly and it appears to keep my S-Type under control. There are many users of the CTEK on this forum who would thoroughly recommend them. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  15. Anthony Welcome to the forum/club. You will find answers on most matters on this forum. If not just ask and there will be someone with advice that is almost certain. Enjoy the car, Best Wishes and Regards, John
