  1. Anthony Welcome to the forum/club. You will find answers on most matters on this forum. If not just ask and there will be someone with advice that is almost certain. Enjoy the car, Best Wishes and Regards, John
  2. Hopefully the service record is provable. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  3. A lot of battery problems associated with Jaguar and particularly S-Types can be overcome with the use of a CTEK MS 7 or 10 charger / re-conditioner. Used at least once a month (or more if possible) for at least 24 hours they drastically reduce low battery problems (Parasitic Drain) Many members on this forum use them and swear by them. I use one with my S-Type and have as good as done away with regular unwanted/unneeded warnings/codes etc etc. They are well worth the investment, even if you have a new battery, as it keeps it on top form. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  4. Dennis This forum is full of references to low battery (Parasitic Drain) in respect of causing irregular readings and codes on Jaguars. The advice, as always, is invest in a CTEK MS 7 or MS 10 charger / re-conditioner . Use it at least once a month for at least 24 hours and (even with a new battery) you will probably experience less numbers of annoying codes / warnings etc, due to battery discharge. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  5. Bernie Many posts on this forum regarding Parasitic Drain. S-Types are probably even more affected that other Jaguars (which are affected). Low battery will often lead to this type of annoying messages/codes. Usual advice applies .......... invest in a CTEK MS 7 or MS 10 charger/re-conditioner and use it on your car at least once a month and for minimum of 24 hrs. I, and many other members on this forum, use and thoroughly recommend the CTEK products. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  6. Joe Many thanks. Not certain about this. Will give it some thought. Regards, John
  7. Joe Many thanks. Looks like I am going to have to put up with what I have currently got. Could maybe advisable to invest in a separate SatNav. Many thanks and Regards, John
  8. Not being particularly computer / phone tech minded, is there any way that Google Maps on my Smartphone can be played through / to the screen on my S-Type ? Many thanks and Regards, John
  9. https://www.latestsatnav.co.uk/latest-2012-sat-nav-disc-update-for-jaguar-xj-s-type-x-type-navigation-dvd-58-p.asp Has anyone purchased this update disc and can offer any knowledge of its status in use. Have never update a disc before, is it just a case of removing the original and putting the new updated disc in its place. Many thanks and Regards, John
  10. Gary Welcome to driving a Jaguar !!!!!!!!!!!! Best Wishes and Regards, John
  11. S-Types are renown for Parasitic Drain. You need to acquire a CTEK MS 7 charger/restorer and use it regularly. I put mine on at least once per month and for a minimum of 24 hours. Stops a lot of frustrating warnings and codes. Many people on this forum use and recommend the CTEK product. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  12. What is it. The link does not go anywhere. Regards, John
  13. Dave Had similar problem with my S-Type. Changed bulbs to RING Xenon 200. Also checked the height that the lights were set at and found they could be increased higher slightly without causing dazzle problems. The bulbs are readily available from the likes of Ebay etc. and are legal compliant. No problem with dazzle , people flashing at you, or seeing well myself when dark. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  14. Get it back to the dealer and politely make your case and be firm about what you want doing about it. Do not forget, having bought from a dealer you have certain consumer rights. Best Wishes, Good Luck and Regards, John
  15. Good luck with Jaguar. Keep pushing them and do not accept anything less than what you feel is correct. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  16. Changed mine about three months ago. Yes they are fiddly but it can be done if you go steady. I padded the bonnet edge with a microfibre cloth just in case there was ant contact with the paintwork accidentally . Best Wishes and Regards, John
  17. Hi Joe Yes I have checked on "How many left" No result. Model: 2005/2006 ( FaceLift ) Jaguar Sport 2.5 V6 Jaguar Heritage have confirmed that there were 430 of the model manufactured. Cheers, John
  18. Have discovered via Jaguar Heritage the number of an actual Model Year (MY), that were actually produced by Jaguar to a certain specification/model. Would like to find out how many of the MY are still registered and in existence. Has anyone any idea if and how this is obtainable via DVLC. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Best Wishes and Regards, John
