  1. Patrick Job sorted then, well done. Good Luck and Best Wishes, John
  2. Julie a new battery will need looking after as well. Regards, John
  3. I have watched the price of classic and semi classic cars for many years. This is a model of car that is inevitably going to become a classic of the future (if not sooner). In my opinion after the XK type models and S-Type models Jaguar have not made particularly many (I am not saying none) cars that reflect being a Jaguar by design. Personally I believe this model of car is worth what the seller is prepared to take for it, versus, what you as the buyer is prepared to pay for it. Price, in my opinion, is not the only and utmost regard. I believe a provable service and maintenance history is important and part of a value, as is mileage and condition. The important factors in condition are, including mechanically, bodily and internally. You seem to suggest that all of these factors are sitting well with you in respect of this car. If you consider it a price you are prepared to pay then the best you can do, if satisfied that the car is all good and what you want, is make an offer for the car. You may be lucky to negotiate the price down. On the other hand you may not and have to make a decision (which only you can do) on whether or not you will pay the asking price. You have not said if you are buying from a dealer or if you are buying from a private source. No doubt you are well aware of the different legalities from both, so bear this in mind when making a decision. Be aware of what/if a dealer is offering a warranty, as to what is covered by that warranty and the conditions attached to it. Good luck with any negotiations / decisions. Best Wishes and Regards, John.
  4. The CTEK 7 and 10 also have a setting for RECON, which de-sulphates the battery. Basically regenerating it. Plainly a totally dead battery is a different matter. The CTEX will also act as a supply to start a car with a flat battery. To my mind they are a good investment for the money. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  5. Julie Being a S-Type and having experience of them, battery would not be a surprise. They suffer with parasitic drain very easily. I usually put mine on my CTEK MXS 7 at least once a week, for minimum of 12 hours, hopefully more. My battery was replaced 12 months ago and is for ever throwing codes if it is not kept well charged. Good Luck and Best Wishes, John
  6. Believe the collective noun for Jaguars is a PROWL. Regards, John
  7. The V6 is a 2.5 engine. Welcome to the Club Best Wishes and Regards, John.
  8. Bought the iCarsoft PRO, but still find it very challenging to use. At 72 I am not "over tech gifted" and am finding the User Manual I had to print from the internet is not really that helpful to me. Can read deeper into P0420 that my Foseal Diagnostic did, but cannot understand such things as live "% efficiency readings" from upstream and downstream Lambdas. Yes it gives the readings and that is OK if you understand what they are meaning. I still get intermittent P0420 codes, despite having replaced each and every part of the Bank 1 induction system and exhaust system, and cannot understand why/how these intermittent codes keep occurring. Manifold Gaskets (6), plugs, coils, up and down stream Lambdas, Catalytic Converter (which was killed by misfiring), checked all joints for leaks. All replacement parts as OE. Any ideas from anyone would be much appreciated. Best Wishes and Regards, John.
  9. Now keep getting intermittent P0420 readings, even after all I have done. ANY IDEAS FROM ANYONE / ANYWHERE Cheers , John
  10. I to will not be approaching from Rownhams Services. John
  11. Kevin Well done. This Forum gets many submission (which you would be well advise to check) regarding Jaguar and F Pace Warranty. There have been a couple in the last few days even. Wish you well with your approach to Jaguar. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  12. Kevin There will be a few members very close to you next weekend Sunday 26th June 2022, attending "Simply Jaguar" at The National Motor Museum, Beaulieu.
  13. George I think a few more details of the wheels like what they will fit, what size they are, photos etc, etc, may help on this submission. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  14. Jay Perhaps you should factor into your intended budget, or negotiations to purchase, the consideration that you may have to have the Cambelt and associated items replaced just to be on the safe side and for peace of mind. Far better to be safe than sorry as a cambelt failure could lead to major repair bills. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  15. Jay Although age and mileage are important, what is probably more important is that the car you buy should have a provable, recorded service history. Previous MOT`s and advisories will also often provide interesting history. Good Luck with your purchase and Regards, John
  16. I personally would suggest that it is going to be a vapour and not smoke. Smoke would suggest fire/burning/ignition, which I would have thought would have had further more devastating outcome than just an escape when the fuel filler is opened. I agree that it it is likely to be a sign of water. If it is water its source will have to be traced or at sometime you are going to get serious misfiring happening, which will lead to other mechanical issues. Is there any smell of any particular note from the tank when you release the filler cap. That may give a clue if it can be identified from the fuel smell one would expect. Taking things to extremes, a sample from the tank and having it analysed may prove may be something. Good Luck and Best Wishes, John
  17. Great to hear good news. Regards, John
  18. They have two pectoral fins which they use as a kind of support and it looks as though they are walking.
