  1. There are numerous submissions on this section regarding the long time it took to get to the bottom (so I thought) of my P0420 codes and problems. In brief, July last year (61847 mls) Full service (all filters new) and Inlet Manifold removed to fit new manifold gaskets (6x Jaguar original)., 6x New Ignition Coils (Denso as original), 6x New Spark Plugs (NGK0, 2 New Lambda Sensors (Up and Down Stream. Denso, as Original), New Catalytic Converter. The car had been misfiring and I believe it killed the existing Cat Conv, (which had disintegrated internally). Since then to date (09.06.2022) car has travelled 4,233 miles (66080). During that time I have had on three occasions a P0420 code arise. The third being yesterday. Each time before, I had checked all joints in air intake system from filter to manifold with no leaks detectable. MAT has been checked and is OK. When code is cleared the car is A1 for about 400/500 mls and then the code reappears, as it did yesterday. Have not yet removed the code on this occasion. Being as every thing was NEW and to OE Specification can anyone offer an explanation or advice on why this code, all be it very intermittently, keeps reoccurring ? All of this is obviously subject to Bank 1. Never had any problems with Bank 2. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  2. Carl Time , work and money not being much of a consideration then I suggest you go for it and be prepared to produce a show stopper of a car. Looking forward to seeing the photos as the job progresses. Best Wishes, John
  3. Colin I have just tried the link and it worked. Regards, John
  4. Kevin Your tickets will give you the needed entry to the display area. I believe the Jaguar.com reserved area will be marked. Regards, John
  5. Carl Appreciate you are keen to acquire this car. However with the description you give of how it has be stood for some years I would give serious though to buying this particular car at all, let alone at what price. Being as the cars are prone to rust as well as it will need new tyres and lord knows how much spent on welding and paintwork. That is only the start, there is also what condition the interior is in, where have the weeds penetrated and what damage have they done. At this stage you have no idea of mechanical condition either. Unless you are able and willing to potentially spend a fortune I would be more inclined to look for a car in a very much more presentable condition to start with. Good Luck and Best Wishes , John.
  6. Wilma Welcome to the Forum/Club. I enjoy my S-Type and would not change it for any other Jaguar . I will admit that I do like the looks of the XK8 very much. Best Wishes , John
  7. Mike Welcome to the Forum/Club and life with a Jaguar. They have very bad habits at times with electrical discharge. My S-Type if not cherished well can be a real challenge. You need to get yourself a CTEK MXS 7 or MXS 10. They really are good equipment and the answer to Battery discharge. I keep my car on my CTEK at least once per week and for 24 hrs as best I can. I do not get discharge problems these days. "Fingers Crossed" Best Wishes and Regards, John
  8. WOW ............. a very good looking automobile. Regards
  9. Jason Would I be correct in assuming from your "r32gtst", that you have a Nissan Skyline connection. In my younger days I owned quite a few Nissans. Skyline R33 and R34, SX 200 S12, S13 and S14, Nissan Primera eGT 2.0 Ltr SR20. At 72 years young I still love cars of that era, but find myself wanting more comfort as well as reasonable power. Hence my S-Type 2.5 V6. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  10. I have a 2005 Facelift S-Type and find that even on a 12 month old battery, it is beneficial to use my CTEK 7, for a weekly charge. It keeps the battery drain problems at bay. Best Wishes and Regards , John
  11. Would this be any help? Replace Jaguar XJR, XKR, XJ8 & XK8 Rusted Rear ... https://www.youtube.com › watch
  12. Nick It would seem to me that you are "snookered" unless you buy from a dealer., who will take your current vehicle in P/X. Proof still remains the important matter unless you choose to have the work and any associated parts etc done after purchase, Good luck with your decisions. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  13. I suspect the likely hood of you getting a reply to this is very low, as the original post was 23.04.2018., that being four years ago. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  14. Are there any similarities in keeping the Stag running correctly as compared to the Jaguar? Regards, John
  15. There are some good videos on You Tube explaining how to identify / trace Parasitic electrical losses on the car. Good Luck and Best Wishes , John
