  1. Malcolm Probably the best is a CTEK MS7.0 Charger and Conditioner. Used by many on this Forum. I have one personally for use on my S-Type, which can prove to be heavy on battery discharge when not in use. It seems many Jaguars suffer with this same problem and lack of battery power leads to many problems. I put mine on the car at least once per week and it keeps the battery in great condition. I have purchased the CTEK item that is installed in the boot and you then just plug the charger into it. Well worthwhile investment as it then does not need any faffing around with jump; leads etc. Incidentally , if you buy the MS 7 or MS 10 they also can act as a supply for jump starting. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  2. Not certain I would want the car on axle stands whilst I had it running and changing gears to circulate the oil in the gear box. Good Luck. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  3. Joe You may remember that I purchased a IDS/SDD and computer for it to run on. I have never got to grips with how to use the darned thing. Mind you, I am from the "Age of the Dinosaur." I am current using a Foseal Reader which has always worked well because I only had to reference the previous Catalytic Converter problems I had . I am now about to buy an iCarsoft PRO, which seems to have good reviews and you also recommended it to me once before. That hopefully will identify/diagnose the ABS warning and point me in the right direction. Thanks once again for your usual precise and helpful advice. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  4. I need a couple of self adhesive badges for the windscreen if they are available. Think they need to be on cars that will be attending Simply Jaguar at Beaulieu . Please update me if they are available or what is available for the windscreen to identify the club. Many thanks and Regards, John
  5. I definitely concur with that. My S-Type keeps coming up with Yellow Engine Management lights and when read through OBD2 has no Codes recorded. If I stop the engine and re-start, the yellow lights are still there. Then drive away for 100 yds or so and the lights disappear until the next showing and we do it all over again. That is when her name changes, as long as my grand daughter is not in the car !!!!!!!!!!!! Best Wishes, John
  6. Joe Did as you suggested and plugged into the OBD2, before stopping the engine, to see if there were any codes registering. Absolutely still no Codes/Errors found. It as usual, after leaving the car stand for a while and restarting, still had the Yellow Warning lights and messages on the dashboard, AND again disappeared once I drove approximately 100 - 150 yards. Very confused, any other ideas? Best Wishes and Regards, John
  7. Clive, A very interesting story and I especially like the not unusual bit about the "Hostile Salesman." Hope you do get to track the car down. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  8. She is female and named "Onca" Best Wishes to all, John
  9. Mark Thank you very much for the very excellent details of "how and with what". I will look into these products and hopefully treat my S-Type. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  10. Mike battery is 12 months old. Terminals are all OK as everything was checked in boot when CTEK MS 07 was installed with plug in separate in boot area six months ago and battery spends regular time on CTEK. Regards, John
  11. "ABS FAULT" "DSC NOT AVAIKABLE" and CVRUISE NOT AVAILABLE. The above warning has appear three times in one journey of 120 miles. Each time it appears I have read for codes and there are no codes registered. Have parked for a while with key out of ignition. Started again and yellow warning still there. Have then driven away and within 100 yds the yellow warning have disappeared. This has happened three times and has cured itself as described on all three occasions. Can anyone / someone help or suggest how this can be cured. My battery spend regular time on my QTEK charger. Many thanks in anticipation of some good advice. Best Wishes and Regards, John

  14. Mark Looks extremely good. How and with what did you achieve that level of presentation? Best Wishes and Regards , John
  15. Darren Your best place to start is to make certain that the battery is fully up to strength as Jaguars suffer when battery condition or charge is low. (Big drain even when used regularly) You then need to get a reading with an OBD2 reader. Theses can be obtained relatively cheaply from the likes of Ebay or other well known sites of similar nature. The codes, if any there, will give you a good clue as to the starting point. Good Luck and Best Wishes, Regards, John
  16. Ash, you can also find a PDF download of most workshop manuals on the internet. This is a place I often use for information and is usually very accurate and reliable. http://www.jagrepair.com Good Luck. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  17. The location varies from the bulkhead, under the bonnet, back of the engine, or underneath near the DPF above the subframe. You will find 3 wires for the connector which plugs into the sensor. Constant 5.0 Volt Earth wire Trigger pcm wire measuring volts Full document listed here https://www.autoassistgroup.com/jaguar-xf-dpf-full/ Hope my be of use. Regards, John
  18. Stephen Good luck with your XK8. If everything is OK once you have initially started the engine, that`s when you can start on the list of works that you may find want doing. Hopefully having been garaged and covered up for five years you hopefully will not have bodywork problems to deal with. Should be a nice car for you eventually. Photos of before and after are always nice to see. Best Wishes and Regards, John
