  1. "In car" level of headlights setting is working fine on all three settings. This is the adjustment of level dependent upon how many passengers. However my dipped beam lights are very low and need raising. The main beams are set well. Can someone please explain how I can adjust the level upwards on the dipped beam. I initially wondered, knowing that S Types suffer with the plastic adjusters break, if this was the problem. The fact that the "in car" adjustment is working fine makes me believe that the dipped beams need to be manually adjust to raise their height. The lamps themselves are not flopping up and down, which someone has already told me is the way to know if the plastic adjusting mechanism is/was broken and needed replacing. Advice and or instructions on how to manually raise the dipped beam lights would be gratefully received. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  2. Mark, The computer was bought on a specification as recommended by the software seller and was set up by a young man that is well versed in computer and software set up. It all talks to each other, once plugged into the car, and is just a case of spending enough time and patience with the darned thing to actually master how it works. I have heard, despite being told it is about the best you can get, that it is somewhat complicated to use until you are used to it. I did manage to find a Jaguar document on the internet which is plainly not the easiest to understand. It consists of some 3000 pages on a pdf document and as far as I can see it is a "teach in classroom" and not a "teach yourself Job". To read the document and understand it without someone who knows it teaching you as well would be a life times work for me. My son in law is reasonably astute with Computers and he is going to see if he can get to grips with it. I doubt much will get done now until the New Year. Cheers, John
  3. Mark I am by no means against technology or advancing at all. My problem is that I was brought up using a "slate and chalk" ?????? to write and today I have big problems with a lot of technology. E.G. I invested in what I was informed was the best diagnosis equipment I could buy for my S Type, IDS/SSD and a separate computer to run it. I have still not as yet, probably three months, had any success in using what seems to be a very complicated system. So at the moment I rely on my Foseal Diagnostic OBD 11, which although is of modern technology, I can readily and successfully utilise it. Bring on the day when I can remember my name !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Best Wishes , John
  4. Mark Sorry for the link (which incidentally despite all of the numbers it leads straight to a specific item, the one I use) it was just my failed attempt at adding a slight bit of humour to the day. Hope you can find a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System that suits your needs. I apologise, Best Wishes and Regards, John
  5. This is mine, very reliable and very accurate. No need for any upgrading of any sort. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/192487642159?epid=6026547236&hash=item2cd128542f:g:EH0AAOSw~BxhMf5x Best Wishes and Regards, John
  6. Malcom You did not actually say you were not replacing a CAT. I, plainly wrongly, was assuming that you were replacing a CAT. My car (2005) does not have any flexi pipes. Just for information my installation of the items I showed in the photos (complete CAT, all pipe and fitting kit) cost me £190 . Please accept my apology for giving a misleading answer to your question. Regards and Best Wishes , John
  7. I do not actually know what you are anticipating fitting (flexi pipe catalytic converter ??????) but I have, approx 100 miles ago, fitted a replacement Catalytic Converter to the right side (offside/driver side, Bank 1) on my 2005 S Type 2.5 Facelift. I actually fitted a replacement that is to OE standards/quality (a solid pipe and Cat. Conv.). The job was reasonably straight forward and easy going. I did also make certain I had a fitting kit so as not to have to mess around with old, rusty and hardened clamps and manifold joint. The OE standard spec pipe and CAT was very precise in manufacture and was in no way difficult to make fit. It was an exact fit. As previously stated I do not know what the "flexi pipe" is, but I would be concerned that it is by definition introducing two extra joints to the system and have no idea how accurate/easy the fitment will be. Best Wishes with the fitting and Regards, John
