  1. Another fan of Pirelli here. Regards, John
  2. Have now, on recommendation from this Forum (thank you Joe), purchased RING 200 Xenon bulbs @ £30 a pair for H7 dipped beam.
  3. Translation: On my s-type 2.7 D from 2005, the power brakes failed - but also the front tires on the outside suddenly wear out enormously. It also makes a 'popping' sound in the front when entering a sharp bend. The biggest problem is that I am in southern Spain and there is no one around here who can help me. Any advice/help is welcome
  4. https://autoreplacementcosts.com/jaguar-s-type-belt-chain/ David S Types have a timing chain. Cheers, John
  5. As per usual I have found quite a number of sellers that are offering replacement headlamp bulbs, however not unusually there are many that cannot or will not advise which model is needed for the 2005 S Type. I guess this because they plainly do not know the products they are offering for sell. I never have and never will but from a seller who cannot answer questions about the products they are promoting. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  6. Thanks for posting this link for telephone holder. I to have been looking for a decent one for my S Type. Regards, John
  7. Thanks Joe. Pleased I do not have R model. Have not bought the replacement bulbs yet. Listening to your experience with Osram I think I shall change my choice of bulb and go for the Ring Xenon 200. Not a bulb I have heard of but no doubt they are readily available somewhere on the internet. Gently gently I shall approach the change over. Many thanks. Best Wishes and Regards, John
  8. Can anyone point me to a listing/submission/video on how to change the headlight bulbs. Am going to upgrade all of them to Osram Night Breakers. Is it a straight forward and easy job on the S Type. Are there any points to be careful with or restrictive matters that I should note. Any advice would be appreciated. Many thanks and Regards, John
  9. Martin In a nut shell NO. Still working on it but I will get to the bottom of it. I shall tell the world what the problem was once I have solved the puzzle. Have just invested in a full blown Jaguar diagnostic and computer, the IDS/SDD that Jaguar agents use. Am now in the process of attempting to learn how to use it. It does not seem very easy or straight forward. However for a 71 years young non computer brained petrol head, it was never going to be easy. I now have my son in law on the trail of of exploring the route to using it correctly and he is a bit of a computer technic who usually has success with sorting any computer that I manage to almost destroy. The other problem is I am not engineering competent on todays electronic mechanics as I was brought up on, in my early years of mechanics, on a Mk 2 Jaguar with no fancy electronics. The most advanced I ever maintained were my Nissan 200SX`s and my Nissan Skyline. Good luck with P0420 and please let me know if you find a resolve before I do. Nest Wishes and Regards, John
