I remain puzzled as to why you're putting the fob in that slot anyway? The only time I did was when I got "SmartKey" error displayed.
I found this today though:
"RICHARD JAG XK 2006KEY FOB STUCK IN STARTER CONTROL UNIT (iT LOOKS LIKE i PUT IT IN WRONG WAY

Try disconnecting the negative battery terminal cable for about 30 minutes. The battery is located in the trunk towards the front of the vehicle behind the cover and luggage separator if this is a convertible. When you reconnect the battery have an assistant in the vehicle so they can push down on the key so it ejects as soon as you reconnect the negative battery terminal."
Hi Arnold......Don't worry about it, I did the same recently & just got good purchase on it & yanked it out, no damage to the fob at all, & I'm not sure that there's anything in that slot that CAN be damaged 🙂
Well, being confortably over 50 I got my S-Type 2003 V6 3 Ltr.Auto covered full comp. for £401.16, so pretty pleased with that against the competition!
Just collected my beautiful 2003 S-Type SE 3 Ltr.V6, but the door mirrors won't fold in when following the manual's instructions. The normal mirror adjustments work fine on the switches as they should, but no fold :-(
