  1. Hi I have a 2008 2.7 Diesel XF, last year I had the stage one remapping done, the car was definitely smoother, more responsive and about a 15% better economy on the OPEN road, is traffic the consumption has not really changed, so far absolutely no issues, still very happy I did it. I am in South Africa so unfortunately I can’t recommend the guys who did it for me. Good luck
  2. Hi My 2.7 XF (2008) has developed what I can best describe as a shudder when accelerating, particularly up an incline but not necessarily, if I back off a little or press the throttle it goes away. I have had suggestions of low ATF or poor quality ATF. It does not sound like the typical quick “grrr” sound of a slipping torque converter clutch glazing symptom, more like a clutch shudder on a stick shift. Anyone come across this or have any wise insight? tx
  3. Hi Alan I had pretty much the same issue until eventually it had absolutely no power, had my mechanic look at it and turned out that the DPF was completely blocked. Perhaps try pouring some DPF cleaner into the tank and go for a nice long drive at a constant highway speed (100Kph +) with some luck it will regen and clear.
  4. Hi kelvin, my mechanic says that it's the fuel rail pump that goes faulty, apparently there is a valve that maintains the pressure n the common rail and eventually through age / wear the seal wear and intermittently the valve does not fully close allowing the fuel to slowly seep back to the tank, after a few cranks it builds up pressure and all is fine. The alternate is a leaking injector which cases the same situation.
