  1. Isn't it annoying. You switch off the engine/ignition, then switch on the radio or cd player and after 9 or 10 minutes it switches off. You switch on again and 9 or 10 minutes later, off it goes again. Switch on again and later you get a message the the battery is low and to switch on the engine to recharge it. Anyone any idea why this happens? In this day and age what is the point of this? By the way I have an XF Premium Luxury, 2011, 3ltr Diesel. Love the car, but that and the DPF filter needing regularly cleaning are irksome.
  2. Anyone else find this annoying? If you accidentally touch the manual shift paddles, the gear goes up or down (depending which paddle). This can cause a momentary bit of mental confusion until you realise what you have done, then return to automatic. This could be dangerous at times as the destraction displaces your driving concentration. Is there a way to disable the paddles as I never use them?
  3. Jaguar 2.5SE Petrol Auto 46,000 miles This situation has happened intermittently about 6 times over the past few months. Had the car about 3 years without any problems. 1. Start car from cold 2. Drive off 3. 4 or 5 minutes later... 4. Engine light comes on, on dash 5. In Speedo box displays ‘Engine system fault’ 6. Gearbox light comes on, on dash 7. In Speedo box displays ‘Gearbox fault’ 8. In Speedo box displays ‘Limp home mode’ 9. Stopped car 10. Put car into reverse from drive to get off main road and park up 11. Car shuddering. 12. Stopped car and put into park 13. Tried to put into drive but gear lever would not move 14. Switched off at ignition 15. 15 minutes later switched on ignition and started engine, drove off with no problems. It has been to a Jag main dealer who haven't a clue, there's nothing on the computer, but say if it happens again ring us. However, as it apparently resets itself, I can't see how it can be diagnosed. Going back into Jaguar tomorrow for them to try again as it happened again yesterday. They have not charged me for their time - as yet. Anyone any ideas?
