  1. Happy Birthday Elwyn!

  2. I had same problem. Replaced cruise control switch pack, about £60 - sorted.
  3. One of the reasons I bought a 2001 S Type 4L last year instead of a later model was the traditional handbrake fitted. I try to keep things simple to reduce the possibility of huge repair bills as the cars get older. I have experienced this in my VW Touareg V10. Eye watering bills every time one of the fancy components fail, and they do, one after the other. Having covered some 6k in the Jag I still believe this is the best car I have ever owned. I just love it.
  4. I has a similar problem. Engine malfunction light on but no performance issues. All fluid levels correct. I connected my ELM327 with iPhone Ap - Dash Command Wi-Fi. It came up with a gear selection fault. Cleared code, no further issues. It would appear that any momentary problem is recorded and easily cleared by any code reader. Hope this helps.
  5. Recently bought DashCommand for under £40 and WiFi WLAN OBD2 ELM327 for under £25. It immediately identified a misfire in cylinder 6. Replaced coil, cleared faults all ok. Yet to try on other owned vehicles.
  6. Bought my first Jag 27th February 2013. Its a S Type V8 2001 with 58000 genuine miles on the clock. In excellent condition I cannot believe how good it is. I am used to power because my workday car is a Touareg V10 5 litre Diesel but the 'S' is silky smooth and goes around corners as if on rails. I just love this car, definitely a future classic. Ok I am also a 'classic nut' and also own a Panther Kallista. Anyone with experience of Jaguar servicing in Cardiff - official dealer and/or specialist?
  7. My everyday car is a VW Touareg V10, runabout is a Fiesta, fun car is a Panther Kallista. The Jag would be an addition!!!
  8. Looking to buy a 'classic' 1999> S Type. 2.5L, 3.0L or 4.0L. Advantages/disadvantages? Suggestions welcome.
  9. Welcome to the Jaguar forums Elwyn :)
