  1. I believe (but may be wrong about this) that the facelifted 3.0 V6 (S and non-S) took a couple of years to gain the 8-speed gearbox, and retained the 6? I'm but a lowly 2.2 owner, and my 2012 car has the 8-speed, but I think the manual notes the 2.2 had the 8 speed and the 3.0 had the 6 speed at the time of building.
  2. Hi Ian, Can I ask, did those prices quoted include labour and VAT? Thanks, Charles
  3. I’m in the same position with my 2.2d. 10 years but slightly higher mileage than yours at 99k. Out of interest, may I ask you what prices they quoted you? I definitely need to do the cambelt for peace of mind.
  4. Thank you John, really good advice there. Would you recommend the 7 or the 10 other one another, or would both do a satisfactory job? Also, haven’t had a car needing its batteries charged before, does one need to remove the battery for charging? Thank you very much.
  5. Thank you, will take a look at replacing the parts that need doing. Also the battery issue, I think the battery was replaced (along with alternator) fairly recently, but may not be up to scratch.
  6. Good evening all, I would like some advice on my very new (to me) 2012 Jaguar XF 2.2 Premium Luxury I acquired just yesterday. Firstly: Start/stop does not appear to function- the dashboard display says there is an error with this when pressing the start/stop button off and on. Would this be a battery issue, or something else? Secondly: the air vent to the right of the steering wheel does not swivel open when starting the car/A/C. It can be manually opened, and does (with a little jolty movement) close automatically when the car is stopped. It's no huge issue, but obviously something I would like to correct if possible. Finally: the car has 99,000 miles on the clock, and at ten years old I do believe it requires a cambelt change. Does anyone have any recommendations as to a reliable and affordable garage/dealership in the West Midlands, and what sort of price I would be looking at for this, and possibly also a decent service. Thank you very much in advance, and I look forward to exploring the forum further.
